I feel like the years aren’t even right for most of these. Like wasn’t the NYK (5) used as like a secondary logo. The court and TV broadcasts never really used it. And 3 and 2 overlapped

Not saying I know more than the Knicks social media manager but hasn’t the current logo been in use far earlier than 2011? Here’s [an Anthony Mason card from 1996](https://basketball.rcsportscards.com/uploads/6/0/8/7/6087117/s435214573511300858_p1883_i1_w1479.jpeg) with a very similar version of that logo on his shorts and the card itself – just like the current logo only without “New York” on top.
That said I’d stick with what we have – it’s pretty timeless.

Doubt it. They should, but the Knicks are one of the oldest teams in the league. Tradition is their bread and butter. Tradition brings familiarity and that leads to the brand being iconic. They’re not gonna do too much to break away from tradition. It’s like the Celtics and Lakers in that regard. Just can’t stray too far from what’s globally recognized.
