    GAME NOTES:

As we all expected, first play of the game was a designed corner 3 for Kessler, which he hit. Ain’t that just the way. He had a great game, finishing with 7 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 blocks. When he was on the floor our rebounding woes were gone. He had a clutch OReb lwith 4 seconds left in the fourth, muscled his way up to get the game tying layup. On the other end a GAME SAVING BLOCK. Big moment for our rook. Lowkey looked like Rudy out there on that last block in regulation. Needs to work on his free throws, missed 2 late ones that would’ve given us the lead. But what a great game by Kessler!!!

But man our rebounding woes were bad tonight. 20 offensive rebounds allowed tonight. It really hurt us when Kessler sat because OKC was getting everything.

Turnovers is another area where we need to work on. I’ve been harping on it all season, but 21 turnovers isn’t good. Olynyk, Clarkson, THT, and Lauri all had 4 a piece.

The first half of this game was incredibly boring on both ends. Nobody could hit a 3 that wasn’t named Kessler or Agbaji. OKC also had shooting woes that continued throughout the hole game. The way we were both playing made it feel like we were transported back 20 years.

Lauri was on a tear in the fourth. He was doing everything he could to help us win this game. He struggled from deep, going 3-12, but shot 12-16 inside the arc which is just unreal, and a perfect 10-10 from the line. 43 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and some MAJOR throwdowns!!! We went to him on that last possession to get us a bucket, and he got fouled on a 3, down 2 with 4.6 seconds left in OT. He stepped up, cool as can be, and knocked em all down to give us the lead 120-119. That’s my MIP and All Star Starter!!!

We couldn’t stop Shai at all tonight, just another reminder of our lackluster perimeter D. Dunn is a good defender, but not on a tall Shai. 39-8-7 for Shai and he was getting everything he wanted, and the calls to follow… Man had an elite whistle tonight. Extremely questionable calls, but when a guy shoots 19 free throws it’s always questionable. He almost hit that game winner on us, and it luckily banked out.

Rudy Gay left the game in the second after getting accidentally elbowed by Lauri, so we weren’t a victim of poor Rudy Gay playing tonight luckily. I hope he’s alright, it didn’t look bad, and I lowkey missed Tank Commander Gay out there.

THT started at point for us in the absence of Sexton, and man his playmaking is great. He needs to work on finishing and shooting, but everything else seems there. 9 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and a block. His two knocks were foul trouble with 5 fouls and his shooting/finishing.

Clarkson provided some great offense as well, and didn’t play too bad. 7-11 inside the arc, 2-8 from 3. 24 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds. A pretty solid showing from JC

Olynyk turned his ankle late in the fourth, and actually looked better after that lol. Had some big rebounds, a 3 in OT, and played better with that bum ankle than he did with two good ones. 12 points, hit 2-3 from deep, 7 rebounds.

Agbaji and Dunn were our bench tonight. 12 for Agbaji, 11 from Dunn. Agbaji looked for more shots tonight, hit some 3’s in the first half, and looked more involved. Agbaji got the nod late instead of THT which surprised me.

Dunn looked good for his first game with us, he played 17 minutes when I wasn’t expecting him to play even half of that. Dunn”s biggest knocks on his career is that he can’t really shoot, and isn’t a good enough playmaker. Let’s see how these last 20 or so games play out to see how he is with us.

Jones played backup C tonight, and his rebounding wasn’t up to snuff, and didn’t attempt a shot. He still looks extremely athletic, but needs to use that to get more action in the paint on both ends. He did have 5 rebounds, with 2 of them being offensive. I just wanted more from our backup C. JTA played backup SF minutes, and both he and Jones weren’t really showing what they did pre ASG, but too small of a sample size to judge them yet. Jones still better than Dok.

Fontecchio needs confidence man. 14 minutes, shot 1-8, and 0-5 from 3. To stay in the league, he needs to hit his open 3’s, and the majority of his 3’s were wiiiiiddee open. Bad showing from him

Shooting was atrocious tonight. 8-37 for the thunder from 3, and 13-48 for us. Neither team could buy a bucket, but kept trying.

Our defense looked pretty good that second half, but nothing too spectacular besides Kessler imo

Still need to work on turnovers, getting rebounds when Kessler isn’t on the court, and getting some confidence in our end of bench guys.

All my homies hate Tony Brothers

30-31 BITCHES. MVP KESSLER MVP LAURI

just a little worried that we are still too good to tank and will end up with like the 9th pick…

  2. This is only the second time this season the Jazz have won a game they trailed by 9 or more at halftime. The other one was game 2 of the season @ Minnesota.

They are now 2-14 in that situation.

This is also the Jazz’s 4th OT win which is as many as the last 5 seasons (prior to this one) combined.

  3. FERFreak731

Rookie of the Year, and the All NBA Player won the game for the Jazz

  4. KennyDoge0114

Sign me up for 3 more games against OKC man, they’ve got a really fun team

  5. KennyDoge0114

If we beat the Spurs we’ll be .500 again…

    Someone get the pasta

  6. rc_cola34

    WHAT A FUCKING GAME!

Our future showed up big time Kessler with the block to go to OT and Lauri just kept us close until he gives us the lead.

Less whistles and that’s a fantastic game.

  7. Backdoorcuts9

Damn Lauri, I thought we were tanking.

  8. Con_Man_69

This was a classic, this rivalry no matter whos playing always hand out classic games.

Lauri 43 points and Kess 7 blocks, we got our dynamic duo of the future ladies and gentlemen.

  9. Obvious-Ad1367

It went from the most boring game of the year to one of the more entertaining.

I hope that Lauri never changes.

I cannot wait for next season Walker after offseason training.

    Ochai keeps impressing.

Dunn was a surprise. If he keeps playing the way he is, he’ll have a spot on the bench.

  10. BIG-BUSSIN-ON-GANG

Yo this team REFUSES to tank 🤣

  11. Sesti-nator

This team is literally giving Danny Ainge the middle finger. Markkanen is playing like an MVP candidate, Kessler is becoming a boss, JC being JC. Tanking? Never heard of her

  12. Incredible block by Kessler, even as he went up I thought for sure he wasn’t going to get it. A bunch of big buckets by Lauri. So glad I was able to watch the end of the game (from the last 4 minutes of the 4th), that was an exciting and nerve-wracking back and forth, thankfully ending in a W. And smh at some of the hate towards SGA in the game thread, dude is fuckin’ legit and that was definitely a foul on Ochai near the end of OT.

  13. somedudeinlosangeles

That game was uglyyyyy but glad we got the win. I’m also happy Jordan gave it up to Lauri at the end.

  14. Potterhead-PottHead

I feel so lucky that we landed Lauri & Kess.

  15. Thamor81

Dunn should get a extension contract to end of this season for Jazz. He will always good choice on bench to use in the game as he is balanced PG who brings good defense. Lauri was a beast after his All Star weekend, hopefully continue this for end of season. Sorry for tanking fans, but we going for that 1st round exit playoff spot =)

  16. Bobblefighterman

Lauri was cruising in his first 5 years, now he’s riding to pick up all the accolades. Add an All-NBA to the list.

  17. Potterhead-PottHead

So much respect for Lauri when he shoots the 3ball not well, and forces his way into the paint. Ends on 43 points when when things aren’t landing. Dude kills himself on the floor. Blows me away.

  18. Potterhead-PottHead

Thurl’s purple suit is giving me life.

  19. Bread_MC

Old Jazz team would have never won this game

  20. lopodo777

Lets mourn the new european dude to be in Lauris list, Dario Saric

  21. Wait, what? I only now realised that Jazz got Kris Dunn on this team? Holy hell, he was an awesome defender in the Bulls. Ok, no 3pt shot whatever, but a good man for certain game situations!

  22. Nicknackpatywak

As a Bulls fan who always defended Lauri, I’m so happy he’s doing awesome for you guys. He got done dirty by Jim Boylen and I’m pumped to see him blossoming. I need to watch some more of your games because. I have Kessler on my fantasy team and multiple times this year he’s had like 7 blocks. You never see that any more! You guys have a fun team and I’m admittedly jealous as a Bulls fan as I watch our team wallow in mediocrity.
