The only thing Morris does better is shoot at will, especially on catch and shoot, Mann is too hesitant to shoot sometimes even when it’s a good look. If Russ is driving and kicking we need shooters to shoot the ball

Last week, I was excited about the new additions and I was hoping the team picked up Beverly. Now Russ is on the team. If this is true and Russ starts over Mann, then it continues the trend this year where Lue has been playing guys like Reg and Wall over Mann when it was clear Mann was outplaying those guys.
If Russ was a great fit then I wouldn’t mind him starting over Mann but I don’t think he’s a better fit. At one point, the Clippers were in danger of falling out of the Playoff picture before Mann was in the starting 5. The Clippers are now 10-3 when Mann, Kawhi, & PG start. Starting Russ over Mann would be so unwise for many reasons.

The bummer with this is the Kings game tonight and the one in 5 games are probably the most important games of the season.(Arguably the three games against Memphis are also very important) If we win both we almost definitely pass the kings as we would have the tie breaker and gain two games on them. That would pretty much guarantee us home court. Instead we are going to experiment with new lineups. It sucks because the Kings are on a second night of a back to back and IMO would lose if we just stuck with our starting lineup but now we put ourselves in a position to lose just because of unfamiliarity of our roster.
While I don’t agree with this lineup choice, I would understand them trying it in the Denver, Golden State, Minnesota games to see if it works but trying it right out of the gate in such an important game is dumb imo.

Ty has already said a lot of experimenting is gonna happen over the next six games. He’ll probably start Mann if it doesn’t work out as he tweaks rotations. I wasn’t happy when the news first broke but I’m not gonna keep hammering on it until we see how it works on the court
