Last night’s ignoring of Mobley late in the game during a career night had me digging into some situational stats to see who’s been getting the shots late in close games when we need a bucket. What I found:
Mitchell has taken more shots this year (38) than the rest of the team combined (36). He’s shooting 26.3%.
Garland has the next highest total, going 6-14 shooting.
Mobley has gotten off 9 shots, making 5 of them.
No one else on the team has taken more than 5 shots.

We need a coach who can run a play late in the game other than “give the ball to the best player and pray they make something happen”.

Here are the stats on NBA.com, if anyone wants to see the breakdown. Mitchell doesn’t look nearly as bad from there as OP’s numbers, but agree with general principles that some more ball distribution / less ISO would be nice.
