The GM has been buckets of garbage. Drafting, missed signings, and trades all poor. A ton of quality guys in the buy out market, brought in none of them. And loads of good players traded for soda cans that went to Lakers Clippers and Nuggets not to Dallas. Doesn’t seem he understands the need for depth and role players. Mavs had a bottom 3 roster before the trade. Outside one shot many many moons ago Kyries never effected winning, huge gamble.
Now he’s had great relationships with 3 players, they got rid of all 3. Dragic was an easy way to fill a huge hole for them and he’s Lukas hero. Insulted him 🤦♂️ it’s a mess. I hope it pays off. 27/30 other teams would have multiple chips 🏆 already with this kid.
What's going on in Dallas is that the Mavs are so use to Luka Doncic as the only option that they don't know how to insert Kyrie Irving into the system, that's on Jason Kidd's coaching ability

The biggest thing they have to work on is knowing when one star will defer to the other. Everything else is in place. They have shooters who will start knocking down shots more consistently. They seem to have found that third ball handler in Josh Green. Even their bigs situation is ok with Powell, Javale, Wood and Kleber. They just started the season having the ball on Luka's hands 90% of the time. Now that they have another legit ball handling star, they just need to find that right mix between the two.
You know what I find honestly hilarious is that they always down play Dallas major trades whether it be the Stars the Mavericks or the Cowboys
