Suns aren’t as scary as I thought they’d be. Luka had a terrible game, KD/Booker had great games, we decided to let them have like 5 straight wide open 3s in the 4th quarter to close the lead and they only beat us by 2.
Booker activating pissed Luka as we head into the playoff season is my happy takeaway from this game

Before this game Luka had shot 56% from the field over his last 9 games. Pointless to get on him for a poor shooting night.
Now all the open 3s he was giving up (thankfully Okogie missed a lot of them), sure.

I’m going to say a positive since all the negatives have been beat to death at this point….
I thought our energy and hustle on d and on rebounds was much, much better than it has been. Everyone was pretty much fighting and scrapping on each defensive possession. I remember back-to-back plays of having 3/4 guys in the paint including a few other times where Kyrie beat Ayton to rebounds. We weren’t seeing that sort of fight since that jazz game prior to the all star break.
If we keep our scoring ability going and keep the hustle/fight on d and rebounding, it should make up enough of our inability to defend the pant. It’s the only way we’ll have any success.
Side note, the NBA getting rid of non-auto reviews on out of bounds at the end of games is bullshit. That fucked us at the end and turned into 3 points for the suns. If they don’t want to auto review, then add an extra challenge.
