Fake comebacks are this teams MO. I was not fooled

  2. badlilbadlandabad

Both of our star players just shot like ass tonight. Maybe that means Miami came in with a gameplan to limit them, maybe they just missed a lot of shots they normally make. Who knows. Rematch on Monday.

  3. youknowitistrue

Something is not right with Trae and we can all see it.

  4. iyeragenius

    Terrible game, Trae included.
Seemed like we packed it in after the 2nd quarter, glad we made it competitive. Both teams were on a back to back, and we shoulda been fresher. By far one of the worst games I’ve seen from Trae, Heat defense got in his head, and they hunt Trae every time on offense.

All that being said, only lost by 8. Let’s see if we adjust Monday. This scheduling is a little weird playing the same team a couple times in a row, but I actually like that it gives Quin and the team an opportunity to make adjustments like a play-off series.

  5. TraeOlder

Was at the game tonight. This arena is fucking awful lmao

  6. primocheese1947

Trae is under 43% from the field this year. And that was before this game.

  7. Successful_Lettuce_3

The hot takes are always wild. 2nd game of a back to back against a team that has had our number for a minute and the 3rd game with our new coach. We’re getting better production from our bench and our defense seems more active– I’ll take that over the nonsense that this team was putting on the court earlier this season.

Hawks Live Postgame said it – maybe you start Bey over JC đŸ€”

  9. Chessh2036

That sucked. Heat always seem to have Trae in Alcatraz when we play, Erik Spoelstra does it better than anyone (in my opinion). But mostly everyone was bad tonight. Just got to continue to be patient with Snyder, he was in Europe a week ago lol. Things take time. Let’s just get the Win on Monday.

  10. No team does a better job at shutting Trae down than the Miami Heat.

  11. kindathecommish

Ok actually though what is our record this year when we are one game above .500? It’s got to be 0-5 or something at least

  12. thessalylarissa

Saddiq Bey is the only person allowed on the private jet when they fly out of Miami.

  13. YeeezusWept

Honestly I’m over this season. I have higher expectations for next year when Snyder fully installs his system and gets some input on roster moves

  14. Successful_Lettuce_3

Post game from Snyder is GREAT. So encouraging to hear a coach actually talk about this team.

  15. IngloriousBastard68

Quin hasn’t even had enough time to memorize the layout of the training facility. Constructing a rotation out of thin air takes TIME!
He is a winning coach and he will fix this franchise as long as the front office doesn’t get in his way. Don’t expect a miracle to happen this season. This is going to require practice time, personnel changes, and roster moves to improve this team. Relax..

  16. atl0413

I think the elephant in the room: It’s time to talk have that talk – Bench Collins, start Bey

  17. Atl-Fan_FTS

John Collins with 1 single rebound, 1 turnover and 3 points. 25 million dollars for this almost every single game.

Bey and JJ absolutely need to get all of his minutes.

  18. Aardvark-0001

I think y’all are giving heat too much credit. They weren’t great tonight we were bad offensively. Just couldn’t do it. They didn’t trap Trae they didn’t trap DJ they just played normal good game. Our shooting just was messed up all night. We had open looks so many of them but they wouldn’t fall. 🙄😔

  19. LAXlittleant26

The previous two coaches our Hawks would’ve laid down being down by that much. Quin is having an immediate effect in some phases of the team.

We clearly see Bey is head and shoulders over anything we get from JC….What action does Quin take? Buy him out and move on. Bey can/should be starting and as of right now I think AJ Griffin should be our 6th. man.

  20. Was Trae and DJM being clamped up or what? Or was their shot just off tonight

  21. x_brokeri

Quin sitting Trae for as long as he did in the 4th was a great move from a coaching point. He realized Trae was off and found the rotation of Bogi, DJ, Bey, JJ, and OO. We brought a game that was 12 down to within 5. The coaches we had before wouldn’t of realized this. I like Quinn’s addition to this team.

  22. Ficlead

With Trae and DJ playing so poorly tonight, I’d really like to see AJ get some minutes.

  23. Darkonite40

Spoeilkstra has Trae’s number it’s concerning

  24. N3phewJemima

Bottom line is trae and dj had very off nights. Tough to win when that happens. Growing pains will happen, but this one actually wasn’t on coaching at all. I liked that 4th Q rotation before the game enders came back in. We got it to within 5. Trae played some hero ball, but by that time it was already over. We just couldn’t stop them. We have a long way to go, but Quin will figure it out!

  25. Matt_Smiths_fanboy

My only gripe with the Quin Snyder hire is that I had grown numb to losses like this under Nate, but now I care again and feel emotions. This next game is easily the most important game of our regular season, can’t afford to check out of that one

  26. terrence0258

If John Collins’ plan was to play so badly that no other team in the NBA would be willing to take on his contract, then he’s succeeding. I don’t know if it’s mental, if it’s injuries, or just a regression, but JC is a shell of his former self.

If he’s injured, he really needs to consider shutting it down this year. We’re better off rotating Bey and JJ at the four.

  27. ahend1999

hawks back at .500, let’s talk about something more important
most of you are guys
how can i tell if a guy likes me? he’s my coworker, i feel like he likes me, im thinking i want to ask him for his number but ummm i fear rejection sooo 😄😄

  28. givemesome1ce1

Worst game Dejounte has had as a hawk, appreciate the effort to comeback in the 4th but he tried to force it at the end.

Trae had an interesting game where he shot like shit but his playmaking and defense was pretty decent until the end of the 4th where he just tried to force it.

Dejounte and Trae have to rely on their teammates more and stop forcing themselves to be the main ones to take all these shots
they went away from what got them close to coming back and ruined it. I had no idea what they were trying to do at the end of the game.

    Monday is a winnable game
this heat team is not good and hopefully Butler is out. We can still be above .500.

  29. TheKing012

almost shocking how similar Trae and DJ’s offensive stats are for this game. if Trae had attempted and made another shot it’d be identical.

  30. datasxienxe

Things aren’t looking good for JC here. Played the fewest minutes out of all players on the team and still picked up 4 fouls without having much of an impact in the game at all. His fit with the team is looking worse than ever and keeping him benched isn’t going to raise his trade value. It’s a real dilemma unless Quin is able to figure out a role for him that makes the team better.

The bright side to this is that Jalen Johnson is looking confident with Quin trusting him to guard some of the best opposing offensive guards like Dame and Herro. Jalen still has a long way to go but he could completely transform this team if he can take his game to the next level.

AJ Griffin is one the better offensive players on the team with good IQ and shooting at that size. I do want to see him get minutes but with a fully healthy roster, it seems unlikely. Hopefully by next season, AJ will have a more structured role on the team.

Bey is also looking real good. Would like to see him get more open threes and if Quin can use him the way he did with Bojan in Utah, this team could have a lot more flexibility on the offensive end.

  31. The Heat play no game with Trae. They are the reason he been playing shell shocked this year, he has never fully recovered from how they embarrassed and shut him all the way down in the PO. It’s like they know his every move.

  32. cmhall25

Khris Middelton could be an interesting pick up if he opts out in pursuit of a longer-term deal. Would need to move some money around to free up cap space, but could fit nicely next to Hunter at the other forward spot.
