  1. This is kind of a new-look team in their first year together. We acquired Caris LeVert near the end of last season and Donovan just before the start of this season. We will get better next year and the year after. But we do need another piece not named Okoro, Osman, or LeVert. As much as I hate to admit that.

  2. I feel like this is way overboard. They are so young. Talking about a guy who is 21. There’s no real reason to have this doom and gloom approach. They are fine.

  3. Spida wants to be in NY he has said it over and over. When his contract is up he's heading to NY, this is just facts

  4. Mobley has to develop some sort of shot for the Cavs to be legit, that HAS to happen. Also, 2 small guards who doesn't defend have never won anything. Mobley is the key to this team and it's not debatable

  5. He won’t, most likely he’ll use the early termination option to ask out. Cavs best case Scenario would be getting an RJ Barrett or a Tyler Herro…. Even maybe a Cam Thomas

  6. The cavs only need two things. They need one more consistent 3nD and they need a big who can hold down the defense while Allen is on the bench

  7. Like do yall lack so much ball knowledge you have to resort to these takes for clicks? I mean I guess it's working.

  8. Nah garland and Mitchell keep jacking up shots and not giving the ball to skilled 7 foot power forward in a league that plays small ball Mobley is their best player and his development should be priority NO.1

  9. will Donovan Mitchell stay? this is SO stupid. first off, he's locked up for 23/24 & 24/25 already, so he's going nowhere the next two years. his player option for 25/26 makes him criminally underpaid, so of course he'll decline it. MAYBE he wants to play for the Knicks so badly he bolts. you never know what is in a player's head, but I'm not sure I see him doing this for a couple of reasons. first, the cavs will likely be in the middle of competing for titles when his contract is up. he knows his best chance at winning a ring is with the cavs. also, the cavs are currently one of THE league's A+ franchises, quite the opposite of the browns. they do things right from top to bottom. what would compel him to want to leave?

  10. Sandro Mamukelashivili off the bucks as a Lauri replacement make OKORO a defensive guard off the bench and Wade solidified as the Love replacement

  11. The Spida is locked 🔒 🆙 player options will be declined. If cavs do well as a team then maybe they get Donovan to extend. It is true that ny is where his family is and a place called home. Knicks would welcome him in a heartbeat. The problem is what will the Knicks be in three years? Going home isn’t his main priority. He is closer to home after the trade and is happy. His family loves it and so it’ll be about timing for both the cavs and Knicks.
The real issue is how the cavs approach things but that was discussed. Cavs will trade spida before letting him walk for nothing. The window is really now win and win again and make it hard to want to leave but cavs are in control of extending or trading. Cavs problem will be is if he gets injured 🤕
Still think 🤔 the Knicks will make an attempt to get spida just like they did when the jazz had him. Rumors will start and Knicks will avoid being the cheap Knicks. Knicks only have themselves to blame on missing out on him. Cavs scored on that trade for sure but it was because Knicks didn’t want to over pay and bid against themselves. 👀 kd moved to suns because they went all in. Cavs couldn’t beat Knicks but went all in when they could see Knicks being cheap. Never mess with Ainge. Ainge does trades so act in good faith and pay 🆙 Knicks will be smarter next time so spida may be a knick sooner then later. Watch out cavs as the Knicks are showing promise.

  12. Mitchell cannot win close games. We saw it in Utah and now Cleveland ranks 29/30 in close win % – last year they were 15th

Except for 19-20, Utah has dramatically improved close game winning percentage since he left.

  13. No way to get better with one of the youngest cores in the league? Jesus Christ what an awful take

  14. It's doom and gloom because they have a year and a half to convince Donavan to stay or make the decision to trade him.

  15. Lol 😂 what is their obsession with painting the Cavs as a “Flawed” or “doom and gloom” team… the Cavs entire starting lineup is 26 (3 of which are 22 or younger) or younger and locked up for the next 3 years.

The Cavs gave up 3 1st for Mitchell and Lauri and Agbaji that hurts but come draft night the Cavs will have the ability to trade a 1st round pick and 10 2nds 😂.

The Cavs can clear close to 14 million in cap space, will have a 13 million dollar mid level exception and can use Levert in sign and trades too if need be.

They have plenty enough to make a couple marginal moves along with the natural development of their core to be a title contender starting next year. The Cavs are also clearly a top 4 team in the east this year and have played well against the elites in the conference and league… for a team that is so young it makes no sense to be this down on them… I have a hard time believing these guys watch the Cavs closely after listening to this

  16. I feel like ESPN never heard of Ja Morant's accusations about punching a kid and pointing a gun at him ! Are you hiding it or are you not aware ?

  17. Several arguments I can make one of them being is that this team still has time to mature. JB Bickerstaff has gone on to say in a interview that the guys in general can get arrogant. Mitchell has even said that the team make him feel old and he's only 26 years old. Growth is important for the Cavs.

Second is getting out of their comfort zone accepting some changes and rotation and that means losing Isaac Okoro. When Danny Green entered the lineup against the Sixers he barely got any touches with the ball since then he has been receiving leftover minutes we're talking about a championship level three point shooter and he's barely gotten any time for chemistry or min since that Sixers game. I don't know if it's JB or the Guys that are so comfortable with Okoro but he's gonna have to share more minutes to get more guys acclimated in rotation.

  18. this team is way too young to be having these conversations lmao y'all need to chill espn has had way too many awful takes lately

  19. Tim Bontemps needs to stop interrupting and let the others speak. God he is annoying. This podcast is almost unbearable to listen to because of him

  20. I was surprised the Cavs didn't make a move before the trade deadline but I guess they wanted to see how this postseason played out before they made any changes. They could use a backup big for J.A. Lopez laying down on the sidelines isn't doing anything for them. I thought they'd maybe move Lavert and pick up a shooter, but I think they didn't want to because they are still unsure about Rubio. Who looks good at times but can't play back to backs yet. Probably thought they needed another ball handler just in case. But I think next year they could definitely strengthen their bench, maybe find a 3 and D wing to replace Okorro and they'd be contenders.

  21. This is a dumb conversation… they’re so young, they could easily have a run like the Warriors

  22. The rest of the team is gonna have to set up and next yr get some more bench players that can shoot the 3 and we'll have to do a sign and teade for caris and move some 2nds to get more help

  23. Cavs are 2-1 against Boston and 1-1 against the Celtics. All of those games were very close… except the Cavs win against the 76ers. To say they aren’t in the race for a top 3 spot in the East is deluded and short sighted.

  24. The Cavs are so young and have don for AT LEAST 3 years. Stfu espn with your tampering to influence outcomes to benefit the big markets.

  25. Cleveland don’t like you Windy! You always hate on Cleveland. We burned your blazer when Lebron left the first time 😂

  26. The amount of negativity with a participation trophy Windy is giving the Cavs is stunning to me. I know all three try to give this team props and talk about how Evan could be the difference maker etc. but on a team whose 4 best players are 26, 24, 23, and 21 they legit say “I don’t see how this team gets better”. Maybe allow them another year or 2 before going down the trade Mitchell and Allen road? The overreaction to how they’ve played the Celtics and 76ers poorly away is a massive overreaction and I generally love the insight from these guys but I guess in their minds, Mitchell is already leaving and Allen needs to get traded. Chill out, don’t give takes that skip bayless would

  27. Mobley has been awesome this year. He should be on an All-Defense team which you almost never see for a player this young. He has made tremendous strides in his efficiency, the way he moves around offensively and is a tremendous passer for his size. He's quite easily, imo, the best sophomore player in the league.

To have conversations with all this being said about him not living up to some outsized standard is just ridiculous. LeBron James was on a pretty good team his 2nd season which had Carlos Boozer breaking out and they didn't even make the playoffs.

I'm not saying Mobley is James, but just pointing out how crazy it is to have this conversation after the season Mobley is putting together.

This Cavs team is way ahead of schedule. They have an average age in their starting lineup of 23yo and that includes 4 guys under 27 who've all either been All-Stars already (Mitchell, Garland, Allen) or are closing in (Mobley).

Some of the takes were reasonable, but unnecessary doom and gloom in getting there. This team should be really good for a really long time.

  28. not even a full year through season 1 and you guys call for changes you absolute morons. they are kids, let them grow

  29. "I dOn'T kNoW hOW thEy GeT BeTTeR tHan THiS yEaR" motherfucker what? have you watched a single game? They are one of the youngest teams in the league. They are fine. Let them develop. Mobley and DG aren't even close to what they are going to be, and Mitchell is just now hitting is prime. Get out of here with these garbage takes, go back to trying to convince everyone the Lakers and Knicks are real basketball teams.
