All this article did was make me sad that the game of basketball has basically been utterly ruined by a bunch of nerds telling people to play stupid.

every time I hear someone say this brain dead take I want to punch them in the face. anyone who says this thinks they’re the smartest person in the world because ‘midrange=old’. The bulls aren’t ‘built for another era’, they likely would’ve done worse in other eras. They are just a bad team and there’s no brownie points to be given out for people making up reasons for it

Why can’t we set off ball screens all game and let Zach jack up 15 more threes a game?

They can’t shoot 3s that’s why they lose

We’re a team that shoots the fewest threes and while that negatively affects winning, we also have no real star. The team will continue to be bad until these things change.

I seem to remember AKME placing a big emphasis on bringing in and developing 2-way players who could shoot.
1. Zach Lavine is a 1-way player (offense)
2. Demar Derozan is a 1-way player (offense)
3. Nikola Vucevic is a 1-way player (offense)
4. Alex Caruso is a 1-way player (defense)
5. Patrick Williams is a 1-way player (defense)
6. Lonzo Ball was a 2-way player (career arguably over due to injury)
What happened? None of the first 4 guys listed ever profiled to be anything more than way they are. Pat Williams still has the potential to be a 2-way player, but it’s not looking good right now. And Lonzo is just a tragic story.
So, what happened? AKME didn’t exactly give Billy D and Co (who I might add have a pedigree for developing players: Mo Cheeks and Chris Fleming especially). So while I agree with most that Billy D is part of the problems, what happened to AKME’s plan to build a team around 2-way players? It was abandoned before they even started.
The more and more I examine this current regime, the more I am puzzled by every decision they have made. Completely overmatched in my opinion. 2nd rate executives until they can prove different.

In what era would they NOT get outrebounded?? The 60s and 70s? They’re too small and soft to be competitive in other eras…

Lol no they aren’t. They’re just fucking bad

This team doesn’t shoot enough in general, Zach and demar pretty much take all the offensive load and vooch when he decides he wants to be in the paint and not bricking 3s
This team is also terrible at 3pt attempts and made 3s, doesn’t help when your best player hardly takes any in a game
We need a pg to set up our other guys to get good looks for shots and cutting
We need people to shoot, tired of seeing our younger guys just passing along the perimeter to Zach or demar, so frustrating seeing no kind of offensive effort at all
