Josh Hart when asked about fatigue factoring in to NYK’s loss to CHA tonight: “You got people getting up at 6 am doing 12 hour shifts. Those people are tired. For us, we’re playing a game…. We gotta keep that in perspective.”

Big Hart in the Big Apple

    Spread the wisdom

Lmao okay it could still affect your performance regardless

I see what he’s saying but there’s a difference between playing highly dynamic sports for extended periods of time more than a couple times a week and the counterexample. You’re just pushing the limits on what is physically possible and healthy for the human body.

It’s a different kind of fatigue, both worthy of discussion.

    Everybody’s got a hungry hart

Lay down your money and you play your part

  5. The best teams to root for are teams that play hard for each other.

Love this dude. When the Lakers had their young core he was my second favorite after Lonzo (and over Ingram and Kuzma)

He’s not wrong but it’s ok for athletes to admit when a team is tired… Everyone understands this is just sports but fatigue is also a very real thing in athletics.

I remember in college I did 1st shift at a warehouse.. lasted like 2 days. God bless the people that do that shit everyday.

    looking at him

    and look at Ja.

this is a talent-oriented league, huh?

Stop it. I’m liking the NY Knicks more and more…

Ugh, I hate these sort of takes.

Two things can be equally difficult.

He’s pushing his body 120% every couple days against others doing the same.

I bet the people working 12 hour days aren’t running nearly as many miles in a lifetime as he does in a season.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

  12. Love Josh Hart, plays hard and seems like a genuinely good person.

His response kind of reminds me of what Dame said when asked back in 2017 if playoff expectations created pressure for him:

SN: Did the expectations from last year add pressure?

Lillard: Pressure, nah. Fam, this is just playing ball. Pressure is the homeless man, who doesn’t know where his next meal is coming from. Pressure is the single mom, who is trying to scuffle and pay her rent. We get paid a lot of money to play a game. Don’t get me wrong — there are challenges. But to call it pressure is almost an insult to regular people.

Isn’t his gf a nurse? Cause sounds about right

I know we all love the super humble “I understand the working man”-comments but this has nothing to do with the question. Hart is just kissing (fans) ass and as we can see here, many are eating it up. “Oh the RESPECT” “He understands our blue collar struggles”. Cmon now.

  15. Damn, I don’t know much about this dude but that immediately makes him a winner in my book.

I’m tired of all this minute watching and rest days resulting in crappy overpriced games for disappointed people who had worked their asses off to afford to go to a single game every few years or so. Glad to see him keeping it all in perspective, good on you, Josh Hart.

The question is obviously relative the usual basketball games played. Not how tired they are compared to the rest of the workers lol

  17. ButtBubble

It’s a stupid take if you really think about it.. he’s asked specifically about the loss, which is against the other guys also “playing a game”, if you are more tired than the other guys you are more likely to lose. It has nothing to do with regular people in this case; the “fatigue” is relative to the other team who you just played, not as a general sense.

now THIS is what a real gangster looks like. what a great quote

Legend ❤ But professional sports are unimaginably exhausting at times, it’s okay to be tired

  20. zeezee2k

They do get a lot of rest, but the amount of calories Randle burns in a game is probably more than my entire day.

  21. mrspear1995

Big mourinho ‘do i feel pressure?’ energy gotta respect that

  22. SoIJustBuyANewOne

From a strictly scientific standpoint, it is entirely possible for fatigue and tiredness to have been the cause of a loss.

The question wasn’t, “are you the most tired man in the world or what?” It was “Do you think [muscular fatigue degraded your teams physical abilities enough to lose]?”

  23. thisisbyrdman

Extremely glad to hear a player say this, even if it’s pandering.
