  1. Didn’t watch the game. Why Klay took only 3 shots in the entire second half. He’s exhausted or something?

  2. ghaliboy

Can’t stand cj McCollum it’s the real issue with Pels

  3. Necroassassin32

Bro, can they branch out Chase Center on every NBA team’s city?

  4. Wassup_-_

Head up,wigs and GP2 gonna fix a lot of defensive issues.Just hop they take Lamb/Iggy/Jamychal minutes and not Kumingas

  5. LaughingPlanet

Last night, our defense was preposterously bad. So strange from a similar core that was once elite defensively with the addition of a defensive BEAST in DDV

I really dont like our current offensive sets… It’s too much 3pt shooting. I mean I get we have open 3s generated by our sets but we’re not a great 3pt shooting team outside of 2 players. We really miss a lob threat or any rim pressure.

Because we have either 2 of Dray, Looney and JK at the same time, our lanes are clogged for us to even drive. We dont have any post presence at all. And the one play we have where we get post ups are used only by Wiggins who is not playing. We rarely use it for JK because of his handles… Where is our sets where we lob it to the dunker spots?

I think we should have somehow made sets that could have catered to Wise earlier on instead of shoehorning him into Looney 2.0 just for post presence. Really a misuse of talent right there.

I think all our struggles were really the effect of our initial strategy in the early phase of this season and now it’s a bit too late to deviate from it because of personel.

  7. Unique-Warning7798

Something I’ve noticed recently is that one of the reasons everyone on the team is hesitant to drive is because of how clogged the lane is in certain lineups.

Draymond and Looney work fine together when one of them is aggressive or actively doing something on offense that requires their man to stay attached to them outside of the paint but when that doesn’t happen they just end up clogging the paint so much that there’s always at least 3 defenders near the rim waiting to contest shots at the rim and get steals on tight passes.

I think it’s high time we stop playing 2 non-floor spacers together. It’s worked in the past years but it clearly isn’t working this year and because it messes up the driving lanes it messes up everything from the shots at the rim to the free throw attempts to even the three point shooting because when you drive and kick it out shooters shoot in rhythm but when you just chuck up a three off a screen or a contested off the dribble pull up there’s not a lot of rhythm and that often results in a pretty loud brick.

i really don’t want to sound like a doomer, but i think the evidence is right in front of our eyes

    – when (if…) GP2 will be back, he won’t be ballin straight out of nowhere after missing so many games…he will need time to find his groove back, get adapted, etc…and we really don’t have time right now

    – same thing with Wiggs: something truly bad must have happened, many of us are like “i can’t wait till he’ll be back” thinking that he’ll be balling as soon as he’ll be back, but i really can’t see how it would be possible for him to be concentrated on basketball right away after all this things he’s going through..

    – if Steph dropping 40 pts (+7 assists, which means he participated in between 54-61 pts) is not enough to beat the fricking Thunders, i don’t know what it is then

    – I’m not saying Kerr is a bad coach (i’d be crazy to say so), but i really think something’s wrong with him and the staff this year: it can’t be a coincidence that we’re still struggling in March while the Kings, out of nowhere, this year are almost the 2nd best team in the West…i guess Mike Brown was more important than we knew.

    – our lack of size is a problem against many opponents, and we don’t have someone to make Looney and Draymond rest even some minutes (IF we get to the playoffs, these guys are gonna be exhausted)

    – Dray’s punch, Kerr yelling at him, Kerr talking 1-on-1 with him during practice, Steph throwing the mouthguard, Dray literally giving up yesterday in the middle of a play…Poole knows the mistakes he makes yet he still continues to make them, he doesn’t improve… it’s obvious that even the players/staff are frustrated with him. he really either makes plays that make us win or that kill the momentum and make us lose (more the latter…), there’s no balance.

and, really, again, i don’t want to sound like a doomer, but this is how things really seem to be right now…next year doesn’t look better either

    – we (might) have an healthy GP2, but we (probably) lose DDV, who has been one of our best players this year.

    – Lacob made it clear that if we don’t make a good run in this end of the regular season / post season, some decisions will have to be made about Dray, Klay and all big contracts…how would Steph react?

    – there’s still no news about Bob renewing

    – some say Kerr’s future is related to that of Bob

    – decisions will have to be made about Poole

i guess it’s normal, physiological…every cicle must come to an end, these guys have literally won everything in these last 8-9 years…it’s just sad to witness it though.

  9. LooneyTunes-

Poole was like my favorite player on the team last year outside of Steph. Now, I don’t like his play, his attitude, or anything

  10. Altruistic-Curve-573

And just like that one game out the playoff and into the play in

  11. youriko31

At this point, this team is just allergic to win road games. 7 road wins is just disgusting, and some loses were so winnable, like the past two games, the Detroit game, the Hornets game, the Magic game, so many winnable road games that the team just couldn’t get it done for some reason, and it’s costing us this season.

This team at home looks like the best team in the NBA, but once they play on the road, they look like headless chickens. Only Steph has been consistent playing on the road. So, it’s pretty much the rest of the boys not stepping up.

Bad news for the Dubs is that 9 out of the last 16 games are on the road. They really need to step up now.

  12. shadowlynx8791

and the lakers just got into play in, man this fucking sucks

  13. ItsintheGab

why is this team so different on the road?

  14. vulcans_pants

Draymond challenged so few shots at the rim last night. It was like he decided to not put forth effort if no one was going to be good on defense.

He had exactly one rebound. Rebounds can be a noisy metric, but one?

Also, not sure Andre can help this season. He looked rough at times last year, and was pretty much out of the playoff rotation. Plus, he’s another non-shooter, and you just can’t play like that in 2023.

I might start playing JMG more, particularly with no Lamb. We just need move spacing from the bigs. Glad to see PBJ get some run; dude gets up shots at a rate that makes Poole envious.

Poole needs to understand that he isn’t a shooter. He can be a great scorer, but he needs to see the ball go in a few times before he starts jacking high degree of difficulty threes. He should live at the free throw line, midrange, and restricted area. During our run sans Steph, Poole had multiple double digit free throw games.

… us after every road loss this season.

Playoffs?!?? I just want to win a game lol.

  16. klcams144

Game is moving too fast for Andre. If he’s going to have an impact, he needs to get reacclimated to the speed of the game.

Would it be preferable to use those minutes to develop JK and his confidence? Probably so, but it seems like the vets run the team, for better and for worse…

  17. SeekingSignificance

I was saying this months ago and it’s looking truer every game. We’ll see the Lakers in the play in again. And they’re currently 2-1 against us.

  18. There’s a lot of talk about shots, turnovers, minutes, rotations, vets vs youth, etc. but I think the entire problem this year has been on the other side of the ball. This is the worst defensive team I’ve seen since the Nellie/Smart days. It’s too easy to break this team down with either size or athleticism. When it’s both, like the Lakers, it’s a landslide.

I don’t think a healthy Wiggs and/or GP2 are going to change things in time for a playoff run. The team is going to have to go through a major transformation this summer if it wants to get back to contending with Steph and Klay.

  19. Crypto_Ninjaaa

What can Iggy offer that young legs like JK & DDV can’t? DDV + JK played great D on bigger forwards yesterday.

Dubs will not move away from Iggy due to loyalty, but I feel like Iggy’s selfish for coming back after holding out on a decision for all of summer.

  20. Dishavingfun

    Such a frustrating season.

You see the defense at home and then you see it on the road.

Still champs but it feels like an off-season of behind the scene stories is on the horizon.

  21. Practical_Sir_510

Were we missing Lamb yesterday??? We lost but didn’t seem like his absence was noticeable. We probably still sign him by Monday because of Kerr. I already see a logjam between Iggy, Lamb, and Kuminga and we all know who gets the short end there.

  22. Jabbajaw

I have come to realize when they are on the road they will *Under-match* opposing teams’ energy even if the opposing team is playing slowly or lethargically. I really feel like they aren’t trying in some of these games and are banking on being able to “Flip the switch” when it comes late season crunch time. I honestly don’t know how it will work out for them. Something tells me we may see less of Jordan Poole when games matter. Kerr will likely use GP2 and DiVincenzo a little more. Poole will be used more for track-meet transition style on players that can tire out more easily. This works well for a 7 game series if we can jump out to a lead and let them climb back because even though it may look bad in the game it can help to make the other team expend more energy. I will take a close win where the other team climbs back into the game over a blowout in the Post-Season every time because it taxes the other team. It may not be pretty but it can be effective for an aging team that needs to conserve energy.

  23. Pereise1

I keep hearing about Poole that, “He’s only 23, he’s going to continue to improve” but a lot of his problems are mental. He seems to have absolutely no motivation to improve his defense and instead, only gambles for steals more often than before. He’s been told by all the vets and the coaching staff that he needs to improve his shot selection and he’s refused to listen. It’s not that he’s panicked and shot the ball when he shouldn’t have, he’s *refused* to listen. If the majority of his problems are mental/attitude related, how can anyone say he’s going to continue to improve? There’s a lot of dudes who are/were way better than Poole who have turned into journeyman because they refuse to fix their attitude so it’s not as simple as everyone thinks.

  24. 3 games back from being 13th in the west is wild

  25. bubbabrowned

As much as this team needs to improve, i still do believe the refs were sketchy as fuck last night. IIRC when they were down 4 to start the 3rd or 4th, every time they’d score, the ref would call a ticky-tack foul on the other end, resulting in FTs to bring the deficit back up.

  26. Majority of our remaining regular season games are road games. We doomed right? 😂😂😂
