[Barnard] Joel Embiid in his postgame interview with @ChrisBHaynes: “MVPs, Defensive Player of the Year, that doesn’t mean anything to me. I’m still going to be the best player on the floor”. Love how locked in he has been of late

  1. He’s the best player on the floor in every game he plays. In the games against the back to back MVP… he’s *clearly* the best player on the floor. That equates to a lifetime 2nd team All-NBA and lifetime MVP runner up!

I don’t get how people just don’t want to enjoy this man and think sixers games are so boring. Been playing unreal, hasn’t really been grifting this year just out physicaling people and getting hacked. And all sixers games are like frickin seismic readings

It’s the same thing as Doc.

If Joel was white he’d be a two time MVP.

I think that Embiid is sincere and genuine here.

He was very critical last season about Bill Simmons having a media vote for NBA awards after Simmons said “Fuck Jalen Green” on his podcast.

Embiid seems like a sharp guy, and I think he fully appreciates that NBA reporting is lazy and heavily reliant on narratives by middle-aged writers, and that he’s just not gonna awards with these cats.

The prevailing media narrative right now seems to be all about Jokic’s transcendent passing and feel for the game, rather than Embiid doing things that no center has ever done before.

He should just self identify as a scoring guard. Than just maybe he will finally get the respect he deserves.

He says this every year and then gets mad he doesn’t win mvp. He deserves it, but he’s lying lol.

No matter what, I will always be grateful that I got to witness the career of this amazing player
