It’s the right move for this current roster construction. This way Zach, Demar, and Vuc get 95% of the shots for the first 6 minutes of the game. Pat and Coby can come in and be aggressive with the 2nd group of Zach, Vuc, and Bev. Ayo, Demar, and Drummond come in for Zach, Vuc, and Bev while Coby and P-Will are still out there.
From 6 minutes in until he comes out in the 2nd quarter, Pat is now a 2nd or 3rd option while he’s on the court.
Whoever is playing well will finish the game.

If you don’t understand why they run this roster then you don’t understand Billy’s offense. Having 4 players with guard skills on the court at all times to run transition and create plays on the fly is exactly what he wants. And to run in transition you need steals/turnovers, which is why Lonzo/Caruso worked so well on the court together. Now with PBev in Lonzo’s spot this lineup can create turnovers and in turn points in transition. Makes much more sense than running a larger lineup just because you want to have a traditional PF on the court
