On one hand, I sense a lot of sarcasm. On the other hand, I’ve come off this way myself, not meaning to at all, so I’m gonna try not to read into it too much.

    But also, he gone.

  2. I’ve watched the whole stream, Kai still advocates for global equality issues outside of basketball and seems irritated by people who don’t care much about him outside of his basketball role.

He is still deeply hurt by the loss of his mother and he is hurt that people don’t seem to take seriously race / inequality issues (which led to long awkward moments).

He wants to use his fame and reach to sensibilize people but he seems to have trouble accepting people caring only his NBA gifts and he knows kinda reluctantly that he needs to entertain his NBA fanbase to have the reach he wants to advocate for other things

I found he was overall putting himself out there, displaying a loveable persona. Everyone struggles with their own issues and he’s not an exception

  3. Man hopefully we can get something good in return when we sign and trade him

I watched his stream, Kai is a really smart person. Has a lot of good insight and his takes on sports gambling was pretty on the mark.

I’m definitely reading into this too much but that is his ‘white voice’. He is specifically adding in ‘white bro voice’. Taking into consideration that the Mavericks Fan base is one of the more gentrified in the NBA, I take this as a shot at the Dallas Mavericks and the majority white fan base that he probably thinks don’t take his off the court work and views seriously.

Our best hope in keeping Kye is firing Cynthia Marshal and hiring Dallas native Erica Badu to help recruit Kyrie and let him know we take his views seriously.

But frfr, he is such a wild card I actually have no idea what he means. It seems like he is putting on a face trying to say and do ‘all the right things’. I get it. I have to wake up and go to work and do the same things, but Kyrie is still young and has much more money and a much larger influence than I ever will. I empathize a lot with a lot of the issues he brings up. However, he has his whole live to accomplish those things after basketball and only has 10 years at best left in his career. He should enjoy it while it lasts, then focus on being a philanthropist activist on the back half of his career.

Just my two cents. He gone. He a little unhinged sounding.

Serious question. Do y’all think Kyrie is actually happy to be here or is putting on a face? As always, the answer is probably a little bit of both.

I’m reserving my expectations, but my gut is telling me he’s putting on a good show for his next contract and wants to be moved elsewhere.

I’ll just try to enjoy it while he’s here. Cheers!
