I still remember playoffs when we made our run to the WCF. I have never experienced a Clippers crowd that hype before or to this date. Yesterday the defense chant was getting there in the 4th…..Man I hope we make it directly into playoffs.

The fan base has built a lot over the last ten years and it’s much more of the middle and lower rich local groups taking up seats in the lower bowl rather than the ultra rich which gives you the super energetic crowds. I went to the Kings game and their fan base was a really small group.
A lot of young fans grew up in lob city and parents were able to afford Clippers games rather than Lakers tickets when the Lakers had a far worse team over the same timeframe. A lot of converts.
Moving forward I think the Clippers and Lakers will eventually be a greater rivalry than Lakers Celtics. Especially if they meet each other in the first round. Polls of Lakers fans have already shown a majority hate the Clippers more than the Celtics which shows how far away the 2008 and 2010 feels for a lot of fans. We’ve seen the Clippers take a lot of players the Lakers fans wanted. We saw Kawhi derail Laker off season plans for a big three. Zu getting stolen from an incompetent GM. PG shunning the Lakers. CP3 getting taken and gift wrapped to the Clippers. Jerry West going to the Clippers. In a very fundamental way the Clippers front office has undermined and strategically worked against the Lakers in every possible way including undercutting them on ticket prices.
Clippers games have been Laker home games in the past, but the gap is slowly closing. The games this year weren’t nearly as bad as prior years when Staples simply looked like a home game.
I’ve checked out the new stadium and they plan to push a more college feel with their wall of sound. They want to make it the loudest stadium in the NBA. It’s going to be insane.

Yesterday was the first Clippers game I went to in over 10 years and maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of the seats were empty. That being said the 4th quarter did have a ton of energy

I took a tiny break and watched kind of from a distance, worked on myself, worked out & ate healthy, and I’m back to fanning for the Clips!
