  1. Never attribute to stupidity that which is adequately explained by malice

  2. FallenLemur

Every time I read an Eric Flynn post, I like him more and more.

  3. Man I’m gonna be sad for Papa Flynn when Malachi is cut/traded from the team. He supports this team so much

  4. outlawx356

Papa Flynn has spoke. We are winning next game.

Form me this started in 2019, it was Marc Davis who I always hated refereeing Raptors games. I’m so desensitized to it now, I don’t care at all about this. Pretty sad I’ve gotten to this place.

This is why I hate the NBA it’s a jerkoff league , the fouls are judgement calls , also don’t forget about Tim Donaghy who was fixing games for mob

  7. The problem with officiating in the NBA is that 90% of all plays COULD be fouls. There is always physical contact on drives. Guards push off on the defender a lot when trying to penetrate. Screens constantly move. Players reach in. Shooters foul bait.

It’s a hard job to make the right call all the time, and most of the time when you read the L2M reports there is a fair argument for a lot of calls being technically accurate. The problem is the exact same play either goes called/uncalled for 40 minutes of a game and then the refs change up the criteria. It’s one thing to allow more physical play down the stretch of a game because you put whistles away. That’s not the right thing to do either, but if it is consistent and every game both teams are allowed to get away with more contact, it’s still a level playing field. But what happens is the whistles come out for certain plays or certain teams. It changes momentum and destroys the flow of the game.

Either call stuff or don’t. Yes, the game would look terrible on TV for a while if there was a whistle on literally every play and both teams shot 50+ free throws, but the players would adjust to that whistle and play differently to avoid constantly fouling out if you called by the letter of the law. Or call nothing and teams would. have to adjust their offence to compensate for heavily aggressive defence. But do one or the other, not selectively doing both.

I’m all for starting Malachi when Fred gets suspended.

  9. Gets me so pissed to hear the broadcast when they say, “your on the road, you won’t get calls”, or “your playing the top player, you want or he will get the call”

Like wtf, a foul is a foul

    >I turned down an NBA contract 25 years ago

    this fucking sent me lmao

  11. Right on Eric Flynn, glad to see this from him.

There no accountability for the refs.

  13. bitterbryan

Awful grammar and a really weird use of capitalizing, but I echo the sentiment

I just want the refs to call travelling in a legit manner. Michael got away with it. LeBron consistently gets away with it. It’s embarrassing.

Why is the coach not standing up here. It’s Nurse to be making this statement. Has Nurse lost the room. Should Nurse be replaced ?

Watching The Raptors play down here in Tampa infuriated me.

Because each time they got the ball the crowd who boo and heckle players. No one went to support them.

And the Refs would easily be influenced by a 30% capacity crowd. It was mind numbing. I swear to God. Most games I was a lone Raptor fan. Some college kids would come out to the games with their Tampa Raptor jerseys but all they cared about was getting on the jumbo tron.

Refs have always been the bane of our existence. It just shows it’s face more pronounced the last 8-9 years because we are now a competitive team and competent organization.
