I’m surprised that they didn’t fire him last year. We should sign him as an assistant

Bring Patrick home and put him on the staff Tom

Can he come and teach our now 4 centers how to play offense like he did? Post ups, fadeaways, etc. which none of our guys do

Always risky to do what Ewing did. Work where your a legend. Hired to get fired.

they had something special brewing when akinjo and mcclung were freshmen, then next season it fell apart quickly.

Love Pat but he was terrible. They couldn’t keep anyone . That big east tourney a few years ago, saved him

Bring him home , The Knicks could use him as an assistant. Bringing him on as an assistant , not just as a PR move.

This is why I never wanted or want him to coach the Knicks. He’d get booed and run out of town, because inevitably that’s how everything happens with this franchise.

Great players doesn’t translate to coaching obviously

I thought Ewing was doing better at Georgetown, but they have been pretty bad the six years he was head coach there. I always wondered in the 2000’s and early 2010’s why he never got a head coaching shot in the NBA. I think he would have been a better fit coaching in the NBA than in the NCAA. I wouldn’t mind having Patrick back in the Knicks organization, sure his Georgetown stint was bad but I think that isn’t necessarily a reflection of him as a coach at the pro-level.

Man can we please hire him? Put him to work with Mitch. I know Patrick wants to be a head coach and is sick of being an assistant though.

Jimmy’s and Joe’s, not X’s and O’s. College sports are about recruiting first and coaching second. Georgetown isn’t the program is was in the 80’s and early 90’s and it’s tough to recruit kids to a program that hasn’t won anything in their lifetimes. Then when he had some players, he lost them to the transfer portal. Hard to build a program like that. He put his dues in as an NBA assistant and I hope he catches on with a staff somewhere. By all accounts he was a very good coach at the NBA level.

Only outlasted Boehiem by a day lol what a disaster

Dang and he did that Knicks 50-year tribute from Georgetown and didn’t go to the msg celebration in person just a few weeks ago smh.
Aaaaaaandyy
Bring him in as an assistant, it would probably be another locker room boost.

coaches are hired to be fired. No matter how good you are, you might need to get fired to “reinvigorate” the franchise

Pat seems to be an introvert by nature , that doesn’t mesh well with being a good recruiter which is the most important aspect of being successful in college coaching .
and the good players he got , he couldn’t keep and lost them to the transfer portal.
he may fare better as a pro coach .
