Oh my god thank you for this. This subreddit NEEDS to snap back to reality.

TBH without an actual definition of hero ball this is ultimately just a semantic issue. For example, I would consider JB’s drive at 2:30 in the video (3:30 in the game) a hero ball move because he gets swarmed by multiple defenders and still tries to go up. Meanwhile White is wide open at the top of the paint, or Smart in the corner if he passes it early. Same thing happens to him a few times.
Good video though, thanks for sharing. Ultimately though, it does seem to me like about 6 or so of our final 15ish possessions were all hero ball, with multiple from Smart. Not ideal.

Whether you want to call it hero ball or iso ball or chucking, most of these possessions are not good offense.

The sports subreddits of all three major teams I’m a fan of do the same thing when they win (championship bound, rivals can suck it we are much better) and when they lose (trade X big star, cut X veteran, fire all the coaches and blow it up)
It’s impossible to spend too much time in any team’s sub because so many people are chasing karma and validation for their hot take.
