I hope the FO will shop RJ this off-season. He is not that guy and hasn’t shown he can be that guy. It’s like he has cinder blocks attached to his feet. The amount of times he drives into the paint only to get blocked because he has no explosive jump or just brick a finger roll lay up is maddening. That contract will not age well
At some point he’s just going to be labelled as a ball hog and it’ll be accurate.
I’m kind of worried RJ might be a negative asset. He’s got a 4 year 107mil contract and he fucking sucks
RJ needs to humble himself this off-season, watch a lot of film and take thousands of shots to improve. His basketball IQ is so low and his average ppg is misleading compared to what we see on the court. For every positive there seems to be 2 negative plays that come after. He’s not athletic, his defense has regressed, shooting percentages are down, his drives to the basket have improved but still needs work and he has no go to move. I’m not sure what exactly he does well or did well to warrant that 107M contract. Im hoping that he can improve next year because if not his days are numbered on this roster.

It’s honestly bizzare. Coming into the NBA, one of his flaws was tunnel vision, but for the most part, he made the right pass out as a rookie and sophomore so it didn’t seem like an issue. These past two season though, he just drives into a group of defenders and takes a horrible shot. How has his tunnel vision gotten worse than his first two years?

Would love to see RJ’s minutes reflect his contributions to winning basketball, which are very few.
People complain about Randle, but his +/- wasn’t that bad for this game. RJ on the other hand…

This is why I question if these guys are coaches at all offensively. Like if it wasn’t for Brunson running the iso show this team would be like 13th.
Someone on the coaching staff needs to coach the fucking tunnel vision out of this kid or get him off the team. Braindead decision making constantly leading to turnovers.

dude is trash, idk if he will get better cause he is still young but right now he is ass and not worth anything near his contract
His inability to kick it out has been painful. It’s a skill all nba players seem to have, they can drive, get themselves in trouble and still find a guy to kickout to in desperation. Randle had a crazy one in the Kings game where he looked like he was locked up but kicked it to I think it was Grimes. Rj doesn’t have that move, he just gets tunnel vision.
RJ got paid and decided to coast and I’ll gladly be proven otherwise next season. This year is just a wash for him sadly.
Maybe Mitch could trail him whenever possible to slam it home after RJ chucks the ball full force off the backboard five times a game
He sucks, and he’s never going to not suck. Need to move on from him in the off-season.

The best part is it’s Kawhi Leonard peeling off of Josh Hart to do the correct thing (stop the ball).
Instead of doing the obvious move, passing for the most efficient shot in basketball (corner 3)to a guy who’s been shooting mysteriously well and hitting the open man automatically (Hart), RJ takes on the challenge of Kawhi
Kawhi, one time best defender in the world
Kawhi the guy who Lebron said ah fuck when he checks into the game
Kawhi who was beating the peak warriors before Zaza took him out
And adds to that the challenge of beating Paul George along with him
RJ is the swing piece for this franchise. He needs to fix this and understands his destiny.
