Bro mikal shooting 50% from 3 as a net. Spencer just went 0/7. Mikal makes the right pass and plays within the offense. Spencer dribbles it for 10 seconds and then panics in late shot clock situations.

Spence does take some I’ll-advised shots at times. That being said, he does a great job of getting downhill and putting pressure on the defense. There’s a reason why the nuggets trapped him up top to force the ball out of is hands. In his defense, some of the 4rh qtr picks he was getting were really weak and we have no one inside so it too often becomes a game of “pass the rock around the perimeter”. Our guys need to cut better

Not many complaints from me with Spence. Not always the best shot selection but he’s still been putting up some really good double doubles lately

Look at the rest of the team on some of those plays. They are frequently not moving, or Dinwiddie has already probed and been cut off, several times tonight he was doubled and had to heave. A lot of them are clearly designed to be match-up based iso’s or drive and kick plays that fizzle.
Watching post-game interviews it’s super clear they hang their hat on the defensive end. Mikal was on JJ Redicks podcast and talked about how figuring it out on offense is tough and they’re trying to adapt the system on the fly.
I think that if it was hero-ball Dinwiddie would be benched. We’ve seen JV bench players mid game for making bad plays and when you watch the actual game when Spencer is cleared out and no one is moving what else do you expect from him? It’s clearly meant to be an iso possession

Spencer is one of the few guys on the team who can make something happen on his own. Sometimes he *needs* to chuck up shots.
Can’t believe the treatment he’s getting from this subreddit, considering that he’s also a (previous) fan favorite. People’s expectations of Dinwiddie are WAY too high.

The reality is that Mikal can’t create for himself as well as Spence down the wire. Mikal gets his buckets in the flow of the game or taking advantage of transition, but in the half court Mikal isn’t as strong at creating yet. It forces us to use Spence since he’s a better at getting to his spots and passing to open guys.
It’s just infuriating that he still hasn’t gotten down when the defense is collapsing for a kick out and when he should go hard into the cup because defenders are sticking with their assignment.
