He was awful in the 4th. He literally just got lucky making bad shots. Dude chucked so goddamn much and was *awful* on defense. Just absolutely not even trying. Just disgusting.

It was never EVER about the offense. He’ll figure that out. Don’t people see it’s the defense? Equally bad this game, and damn near worst I’ve seen in the first half. Not too optimistic. Doesn’t even get in defensive stance.

Kerr stepped up, poole is still the same poole, as a coach you can highlight his strength and hide his weaknesses. Also, he’s a player that need a short leash, finally seeing more applied to him by the coaching staff in the recent 2 wins. Make him earn those clutch minutes.

He did take a step back and went into mostly facilitator mode first in the final stretch before garbage time and it translated.
Meanwhile he still did jacked up quite a few dumb shots and prayers as well, but he happen to make quite a few of them. And all of those 1 on 3/4 fast breaks he tried to force up while his whole team is still running up from the backcourt.

i think they really talked to him about his shot selection. there were many possessions where he was about to shoot an ill-advised shot (contested, early shot clock, too far, etc) and I was like “Nooo! Don’t!” but he decided not to and passed the ball for a better quality shot. I can tell he’s very conscious about those shot selection now. Although, he still had those dumb TOs.
