  1. I agree with Doug, during that Celtics game, especially in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter, I turned off the TV. It was painful to watch as each player from the C's celebrated basket after basket against the Nets which looks like a G-league team at that time. Well, I was surprised that some of my IG feeds were the final score between Brooklyn and Boston — where the Nets are winning by 10 points. I am confident that the Nets have a bigger chance of getting past the first round of this year's playoffs regardless of which team they are up against.

  2. Right now what we should all focus on is that this new Brooklyn Nets squad are starting to find their momentum consistency and more importantly chemistry. Spencer dinwiddie has taken on the floor general role and has gotten his teammates involved lately with some great assists. Mikal Bridges meanwhile has assumed the primary and secondary roles interchangeably with Spencer dinwiddie such as scoring a lot of points while also showing his versatility as a defender and scoring guard. Cam Johnson has also put himself in a good role scoring three pointers creating his own shot and playing good defense.

Dorian Finney Smith and Royce o Neale have really impacted Brooklyn top new defense and have made a lot of good hustle plays while stepping up their defensive intensity.

Nic Claxton has regained some of his good scoring lately while still showing his strong defense as a blocker.

Joe Harris and seth curry meanwhile have lately found their own places on the team playing important middle minutes off the bench and keeping the offensive pacing up.

Overall this team is playing good together and creating cohesion.

  3. What's also important to note is the main core of Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson nic Claxton Spencer dinwiddie Dorian Finney Smith Seth curry and joe Harris have all been good supporting role players on superstar teams and now have the leadership reigns and are creating their own competitive identity while creating a winning culture.

Also coach Vaughn has really stepped up and gotten this team to buy into his no excuses mantra and caring about finding solutions and building real chemistry and a foundation.

  4. Somestimes dreams come true. In the past, I've dreamed of hearing the LON panel talk positively, about the Brooklyn Nets, without KD & Kyrie being the main subjects. Happy days are here again. If that could happen, it's possible we could win the chip this season. lol

  5. One game at a time. What I like about this team now is that they are much more balanced than they were before the trades. They play full tilt hard….they can be real tough on defense, and they have a good floor general in Spencer. I liked your comments on Royce…he has been a great piece for the Nets both before and after the trades.

  6. I’m die hard nets fan but nah I’m worried we ain’t going to maintain that 5th seed really I’d be happy with ultimately 4 and 5 play each other first round so it’s almost same anyway

  7. When Kyrie said he left the Nets in 4th place, "I did my job," people blasted him for that statement. The fact is KD & Kyrie under Coach Vaughn got as high as the 2 seed this season & they were coming for the top seed! The ceiling for this team is much lower, losing 2 current all-star starters & future HOFers, but I'm glad they're improving w/o them.

  8. @Doug Norrie I think I just made some sense out of the potential 6th seed becoming a play in team and it’s concerning

The heats division has to have a team make the playoffs and right now heat hawks are in 7th/8th. All that means is it would guarantee one of the teams from their division makes the playoffs so everything would proceed as normal

However if Toronto leaps the hawks and the play in matchups become

    Heat vs Toronto
    Hawks vs Bulls

In that scenario they will take whoever is in the 6th seed and make them play toronto in the play in because that scenario creates a possibility that no one from the heats division makes the playoffs

  9. Excellent job as always guys. Glad to see Doug isn't all doom and gloom as always. Adam kudos for spotlighting Royce and how well he has played since the trade. Can you guys dive into the changes JV has made since our winning streak? Bring Erik Slater on to breakdown the defnese? #netsworld

  10. No Dinwiddie hate I feel better now.

I think the 5 and 6 seed is a fair assessment of where this team should be at the end. However, in terms of their success in the playoffs I think it will be matchup dependent with Cleveland clearly being the best matchup of a bunch of bad matchups. Doug might not want to hear this but come playoff time the whole big man debate will probably rear its ugly head again. Doug all year talked about how there are not that many capable bigs that can give the Nets and Claxton issues. Well I have always thought the Girth of the roster would mean an early exit for the Nets and that was with Kyrie and KD. Pick your poison. You want Giannas and Brook Lopez? How about Boston that routinely out muscles them? Even Cleveland with Mobley and Allen? Philly with Embiid. They continue to have an interior size issue and are routinely being out rebounded. They went out and got Noel haha so they literally found a back up center who is thinner than Claxton. I still think a Mason Plumlee would have been a better option at the trade deadline.

Here is a question I have thought about. This team is clearly not better without KD BUT let’s say KD and Kyrie somehow was on this roster with this current cast minus Din and DFS. Is this team better without Kyrie? Based on the mediocrity of the Mavs I’d say this current team is better without Kyrie and the addition of Din and DFS then with him and all the culture stuff that comes with it. I hope Marks has learned that it’s not about just accumulating stars it’s about pinpointing the right stars to build around because clearly KD and Kyrie were not the guys to do it with.

  11. If Ben Simmons played like he used to just 2 yrs ago , they could win the east,
start Ben at point , the defensive alone is unbelievable
Ben , bridges, Claxton , than all the shooters around Ben
cam and cam and Joe and doe doe

it’s all on Ben he literally could be magic if he wanted to , fuck his shot he don’t need it , he drives they collapse he kicks it out for the three easy money

  12. This organization is terrible for making decisions about finances rather than probability. If you cared about probability, then you wouldn’t cut bait to reduce the probability of winning over 50 regular season games or even just reducing your probability to get at least 20 games over 500.

They are also terrible for judging individual star’s record with a team over overall team record since a player joined a team, which really is the only thing that matters.

This owner will be forever terrible to me until he starts putting all his chips in for probability results over finances/just being fun.

Saying he’s a great owner for making the Nets into a contender 3 years ago is irrelevant since he was the one that ultimately made the decision to break the team up this regardless of what drama he dealt with.

Drama is only drama unless a person focuses their attention on it and makes the personal decision to let it bother oneself.

People are very oblivious to the idea that if you give a player attention over a situation, those people are in fact looking for drama not trying to remove drama. They are making something their business.

Let me make an analogy for this. If a friend I knew close to me knew I had serious psychiatric problems, they shouldn’t be blabbing to the entire world on tv all the crazy things I said, did, or thought. Doing so created undue drama and disrespect to me no matter how big my issues are or even if my friend hated me for it, when my issues could have all be settled entirely behind closed doors when no one is around.

Let me be crystal clear, none of what Kyrie did was right and I do not support he decisions, but just because I do not support his decisions does NOT give me or anyone else the right to take vengeance on him for it.

  13. Great defense and great 3 point shooting. The Suns are now not a good 3 point shooting team. Not a surprise. Bridges and Johnson are great 3 point shooters.
