Just a reminder for the Celtics fans who seemingly forget the game winner against Philly. They don’t all fall folks. Quit overreacting.

Keep that energy when they’re knocked out of the playoffs in the second round haha. They’re playing incredibly inconsistently and you either have Brown or Tatum switching up who shoots very inefficiently

  2. ChipotleGuacamole

Yeah I think most people were just disappointed because it was a VERY makeable shot. A layup.

Oh well. On to the next one. If you told me he’d get that same opportunity to tie or win the game 10/10 times I’d take it.

I forget which game but JB smoked a layup last year in a similar situation. It happens.

  3. beywill19

What does that have to do with last night? Jaylen was clearly the better player last night and he deserved to get the last shot.

  4. Bitter-Ad1215

What’s this got to do when the Cs lose to a bum rockets team ?.. the game should not even have come down to the last shot .. that was an under performance smh.

  5. I think the point is that we shouldn’t even be in a situation where we need a late game winner against a team that is a defensive albatross and isn’t trying to win

  6. Coughkaesk

We are reacting to the overall lackluster performances over the last month and a half. Since the Celtics had a 9-game win streak January they have been 12-10, losing to teams like Houston, Indiana, Oklahoma City, and even Orlando THREE TIMES during that stretch. So when you combine this information with the fact that we only have 12 games left and we need a game winner against the second worst team in the league, that shot not falling is a symptom of a larger issue.

  7. Medium_Egg1968

This is because all of their wins come by the skin of their teeth and Tatum is taking the last shot in 99% of them. Of course he’s going to make a few.

  8. Last 30 sec, [Brown has been the best in the league this season.](https://www.nba.com/stats/players/clutch-traditional?AheadBehind=Behind%20or%20Tied&ClutchTime=Last%2030%20Seconds&GameSegment=&PerMode=Totals&Period=4&PointDiff=3&dir=A&sort=FGM)

He’s 3/4 in the last 10 seconds too, also best in the league this season.

If you just need a bucket then Brown is the better option. I’m still taking Tatum if a 3 is needed but if you need a 2 to win or tie it’s a good idea to go with Brown.

Nuggets lost to the spurs. Milwaukee lost to the hornets. I swear you ppl don’t watch basketball you just complain

  10. restivepanda

I haven’t forgotten the shot against Philly, but do I remember him coming up short on big late shots vs the Knicks twice, Lakers and the Rockets again last night just off the top of my head. Plus the poor execution on the late turnover in the Miami game. Lot of clutch lowlights for Tatum this year.

  11. thesexysaurus

At the end of the day all of our shots will land against Philly

  12. HoorayPizzaDay

Shouldn’t have to attempt a game-tying FG at the buzzer against the worst team in the league. That was his fault.

  13. Machiniac

One shot means very little. Tatum is not the problem at all.

  14. These calm down post are annoying. We are not overreacting. We are stating what we see with our own eyes and saying that it doesn’t look good. You are the one who’s underplaying this as if we can turn on a switch in the playoffs and magically get to the Finals and win it all. There are lots to be concerned with here, and talking about it IS NOT OVER REACTING.

  15. Farts_cloud

Ok makes are cool. But no one has missed more potential game winners than JT over the past 5 seasons.

  16. streets27

Regardless, JB should have taken the final shot. He was on fire all game.

  17. Drawing_The_Line

Uh oh, the baby Fan Police is here to scold you for not bootlicking Tatum and the Celtics enough. That’s right, unless you only show irrational happy emotions, even in the face of disappointing performances, you’ll be berated. “Whaaa, stop saying critical things about Tatum and the Celtics, whaaaaa!”

  18. The fact they even had to try for a last second shot and win in OT against the rockets is what’s concerning

  19. too-cute-by-half

I get that the stats show he is clutch.

But recently he just seems to be missing an unusual number of layups and bunnies. It genuinely looks like a mental glitch happening as he approaches the rim.

What happens when we go to 6 seasons or 4 seasons?

Just curious when I see these gates put around stats.

  22. JaylenBrownFlow

cool now can he pull his head out of his so we can beat shit teams like the rockets?

  23. AdmiralWackbar

FREE SGA! I drafted him and fantasy this year so it gave me a reason to watch thunder games and he’s so fun to watch.

  24. SerBrendanhouseSaint

Jaylen needs to get that ball with 43 points.

  25. DonovanMcTigerWoods

stop pulling these meaningless stats. I remember when they pulled this graphic after he hit the game winner against Philly, everyone forgets Jaylen was scoring all the clutch buckets to even get us that chance. Same thing happened last night. It’s not the end times but we need to be realistic about what’s happening

  26. P4TL4NT4

Alright he made some shots with less than 5 seconds. What is the percentage compared to others? What about the final five mins of the game too? They ain’t all won or lost in final seconds.

  27. h0ttake50n1y

There is a ginormous difference between a whole span of 5 seasons and the microcosm of a season that a single game is. Sure, Tatum has 9 shots that fall under the criteria in the picture, but last night he was shooting like ass. History doesn’t matter in that situation. People need to stop using historical stats to support a single decision in a single game. Tatum’s prior stats don’t matter at that point – what matters is the flow of the current game.
