    this is pretty much in line with previous gun suspensions if they couldn’t prove he brought the gun on the team plane.

    I hope NBA vets surround this dude and tell him just how lucky he is that this is his first offense. No one was injured, no one died. He can still come back from this with a fresh start and new outlook on his career.

    I didn’t see it in the comments… But the reason it’s only 8 games is because the NBA said the gun wasn’t his (and he wasn’t on team facilities or plane, etc for that long automatic suspension).

    Really? I would think flashing someone else’s gun would lead to more games and not less. But hey, I’m crazy.

    The league said based on the information obtained during its investigation that it did not conclude that the gun at issue belonged to Morant, was brought by him into the nightclub or was displayed by him beyond a brief period. The investigation also did not find that Morant possessed the gun while traveling with the team or in any NBA facility, and the Colorado authorities did not find sufficient cause to charge Morant with a crime
