Monte Morris is speaking what even a logical man would think. I’ve read & saw plenty of videos about Sports betting – it’s a real plague, unlegislated, in every sport, worldwide. It has tons of funds to sponsor many clubs. Many young men get addicted to aggressive ads & marketing – getting hooked.
Wizards guard Monte Morris says sports betting has changed how fans heckle NBA players: "Now you hear guys yelling 'I need such and such for the parlay.' They just take the fun out of the game, like the love for that, every night.'"

I think Monte should have a conversation with Ted on this, I doubt he’d even care or listen since he’s been at the forefront among league owners leading in pushing sports betting but it definitely can get someone addicted. I also don’t know why someone would even bet on anything Wizards in the first place when they’re consistent at being inconsistent
all i hear from kids these days and teens are about the spread and the parlay now. he’s not wrong
In my heart I wanna say the fantasy league stuff made this happen. The rise and popularity of that had “fans” seeing athletes suffering serious injuries and the first thing out of their mouths was “Aw man I just picked them up for my fantasy team!” or similar stuff about how it would affect their standings in their fantasy league. Sickening.
But in my head I know it’s a sickness that has been around for eons, and I’m reminded of a baseball game I went to before the internet existed. The fans a couple rows over from me were betting, but the action had already ended and it was between innings. Huh? I finally paid attention long enough to discover they were betting on once the final out of the inning happened, if the player with the ball would throw the baseball toward the pitchers mound and if it would roll far enough to touch the mound itself.
That’s when I realized how people (and lets be real, it’s guys) will bet on anything.
