Anthony is correct. Jaden ivey is a star in the making. He has a name and face that people remember and he's one of the fastest human beings alive.
I still believe Troy made the right pick with Ivey, I would've made the same pick, too.
Ben Mathurin was my plan B pick if Ivey wasn't available.
Believe me the same ones that are saying Mathurin now would've changed their tune if Ivey was in a Pacers uniform saying Weaver should've drafted Ivey instead of Mathurin!
Mathurin would've been struggling with this Pistons roster with Dwane Casey as his coach, and with the injury prone players like Isaiah Livers & Marvin Bagley, he would've had NO HELP whatsoever.
The Ivey naysayers know, Ivey would've been beasting in a Pacers uniform calling for Troy Weaver's job.
Ivey's ceiling is 30 ppg, easy…provided he can knock down 36% on high volume. The thing with Ivey is because he's so quick off the bounce teams will always go under and sag on PnR which will give him "wide open" shots from the perimeter.
Now if he hovers around 33% from 3 and is streaky (thus low volume) then ya lower 20's but thats not his ceiling
1:04 Lance lists off everything that Ivy is not doing haha he’s running into double teams, jumping to pass, and he tends to run in a straight line 😂 these are literally the issues preventing him from playing efficiently. Idgaf if he’s shooting poor from 3 the guy has been literally trash on defense and ineffective at finishing at the rim so idk wtf y’all on! He’s shown flashes that one day, when he learns some new tricks he could be a good player yes but star ⭐️ I gotta see more if I’m being honest
