There has to be some narrative for an MVP candidacy, and Miami has nothing to dissuade their mediocre record. No exceeding expectations, no catching people blindsided, everything about Miami as of right now was forecasted in the off-season. Whilst Jimmy is having a great year, you can only claim someone should be a candidate if they stack up against opposing players. Please tell me how anything Jimmy is doing is comparable to Jokic, Embiid, Tatum, Doncic, LeBron. If the narrative is "great player carrying a shit roster to a fighting chance", then Dame and Luka would've been at the top of the MVP race months ago. This is coming from a Jimmy and Miami fan. I root for this team come post season if its all star Dragic's year, or getting dawged by the Bucks year.
