The Nets entered a critical three-game stretch this week with two games against the Cavaliers and one against the Heat. With the play-in game looking more and more likely, the team really needed to stop the losing skid. They weren’t able to do it with Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland and the Cavaliers winning rather easily when it was all said and done.
The Locked on Nets guys talk about the game, Brooklyn’s recent struggles, the poor shooting from three and other issues the team is having. They also look at the play of Spencer Dinwiddie and give props to Day’Ron Sharpe’s big game off the bench.

Nets just there just gotta love em for trying
Before the game, against the Cavaliers, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, and Spencer Dinwiddie came together and had a few laughs. It was, most likely, about the good old days when they were on the same team and the events that brought them to where they are today. I imagine Allen and LeVert were laughing about how they were traded away, to make room for the "big 3" and how it imploded. They could be laughing at how the Nets were left with a motley crew of spare parts that JV have to work with. If they weren't laughing about any of these things, I sure as hell the Cavaliers fan base are. The repercussions of Sean Marks's folly will be felt for years.
Years ago after Kyrie Irving's dramatic departure from the Cavaliers, their strategy for improving is bearing fruit. They drafted and traded wisely. An emphasis was placed on cohesion, comradery, and chemistry. Hey have a good coaching staff and a good roster that's set for the future. They're a better team than the Nets. I would've love to see the Nets win this game but I expected the Cavaliers to win.
Ben, Sumner, Thomas, Mills, and Moses DNP. Yuta and Curry scored 0 points. Harris and Dorian Finny-Smith scored 6 and 5 points respectively. Bridges was defended very well. 18 points, including 0-8 for 3pt shots attempted. With that, there's no need for an in depth analysis of why the Nets loss to the Cavaliers.
Winless since that “ can the nets catch the 4th seed video “ 😂
Adam and Doug…I agree with your point regarding Spencer…he’s doing a very good job managing and facilitating the offense. He has the best court vision on the team right now. If you aren’t going to keep him, you need to get someone better to take his place. I also agree with your point about Cam Johnson. He hasn’t shown he’s worth the 5 yr 100 mil contract since he’s been with the Nets.
The Nets need another scorer and rebounder in that starting lineup.
What's the point I mean come on WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT MAN!! All we are now is an absolute joke a punching bag to the entire NBA and I'm so tired of being miserable and looking like a goddamn clown every time this team loses Bruh I just want this season to be over literally 💯🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Couple things:
First, let’s slow down on the sharpe is the missing big narrative here haha. I agree with Doug on this assessment. This was the perfect team and may be the only team that sharpe can be functional with because you’re not gonna expose him offensively. Now if he’s used more like a stretch big where he’s taking two or three three-pointers a game then that’s a game changer and you have to reassess things.
Second, they’re two and half players Marks should be married to come in the off-season because in my book no other players have shown that they should be significant pieces, moving forward, besides being used as trade fodder for a rebuild. In other words given most of the key pieces age trajectory it’s not worth investing long-term capital in exchange for the value they have now on the trade market for picks. In other words, guys like Royce, cam Johnson and DFS are in their primes physically, and due to their ages, are probably not going to get any better and by the time the team is ready to contend again, they will be less valuable, and maybe even too old to actually help you. These players are great players to have when you already have establish stars not so much when you’re rebuilding.
Going back to the two and a half players. The two players are bridges and Claxton one 26 and the other 23 and the half is Dinwiddie not because I wouldn’t trade him but because right now for what he does, and what’s available on the market you can’t replace him with anybody better. You’re not finding a 6 foot 6 two way playmaking guard who can put up 18 and 10 on a regular basis that another team is going to want to trade you. So unless you’re getting scoot Henderson in the draft I’ll take Dinwiddie all day everyday complaining and all (which I think is overblown by fans and media since guys like Luka do it all game and everybody loves him so it’s just purely Dinwiddie hate).
Everybody else on the roster so far, hasn’t proven that I would not want the first round pick more than them. Like am I seriously going to keep DFS who’s gonna be 30 years old but I can probably get another first round pick for him from a contending team? Am I going to give cam Johnson $100 million this off-season simply because he’s Bridges best friend when I could probably get another first round picks for him? Same thing for Royce who I also like but I take the picks.
Besides that the primary goal in the off-season should be, how do you move Joe Harris and Ben Simmons contracts. Without completely giving up all your assets to do so.
