My favorite…
The 1995 Rockets had the toughest road to an NBA title. They beat nothing but great teams without having home court advantage in any series.
How did this man C the court while dribbling wit his head down!!
Ppl act like dude was trash…for a nice stretch the only 2G in the league better than him was Jordan. Drexler had no weaknesses in his game. Literally none. Intangibles and personality wise is probably where he lacked. Too laid back at times
Who was that guy who was that guy better than all of you even as an old man get over it? He definitely knew the formula to win.
In his era, he was a distant #2 to MJ @ the 2. Kobe and DWade have surpassed him since then. I have him as 5th. Definitely a supporting actor rather than a leading man.
What's the problem with reading the wall street journal?
Clyde Drexler was a top 50 player put some respect on his name
What is that documentary called
Those Houston Rockets guys should give courtesy to Orlando Magic's Nick Anderson for making them win the second trophy.. 😁
Maybe one of the rear superstars that wasn't spanding too many balls. With Clyde, other playes were also involved with the game and not just act as a supporting staff. Drexler was a good superstar for the team chemistry.
Top 10 shooting guards of all time. Gotta be right?
What if, college days rivals were put together in one team?
MJ, Clyde, James Worthy, Hakeem and Kenny…….?
in 95 thanks to him and Hakeem I started to be interested in basketball and even played a little I believe CLYDE was in his time at the absolute top of players in his position and not only was he sometimes just unlucky but after moving to HOUSTON it was just what he needed, too bad It happened so late, I wish he had been there a few years earlier. I don't think everyone would have handled the way he did hitting the cards he had I think if Jordan had his cards he wouldn't be as famous as he is
The closest to Michael Jordan are Kobe and Clyde. The reason why I included Clyde is that he is tough. As an SG, Clyde Drexler is a tough dude. He is different from the ray fallen, Thompson, Sprewell, etc. Clyde is just a different breed. If you're able to follow his career, you know this. I've seen a lot of good SG, but they're not Jordan, Kobe, and Clyde. There is toughness in them that separates them from others.
There's a ton of great shooting guards it's tough to rank them let alone do a top 10! We can try though, and everyone's list will be different. Clyde is top 10 all time I'd say, I watched him and Jordan go at it, and him and Isiah, Magic, etc….He was incredible talent in his prime.
Here's 10 classic all time great shooting guards…modern NBA isn't my thing so others will have to vouch for this current era
Jordan
West
Clyde
Monroe
Pistol
Westphal
Gervin
Sam Jones
Hal Greer
David Thompson
Mj,Kobe,Drexler,Wade,West.
#4 at worse possibly 3b with Wade having the slightest edge. . I don't consider Dr J or AI as a 2 guard personally, because they guarded different positions.
Drexler is a gentleman, an excellent humble player, and a champion.
Clyde the Glyde man was one hell of a player
I remember thinking Clyde was old at this time and he was still FLYING down the court. Amazing speed
Love The Glyde!!! Top 5 for me!
LOL Kenny Smith talking like he's a superstar, Clyde is 2 times the player that Kenny is. So when Clyde talks, Kenny better listen.
I respected Clyde Drexler from his time in Portland, where I lived.
I wish the 93-94 Knicks traded for Clyde. He would have helped the Knicks win the championship that season.
Such a fitting time to release this video as Drexler just got a 99 dark matter card in 2K yesterday! My no money spent squad just got a new leader today when I bought him. The Glide is leading the team with The Glove and Doctor J!
Drexler is definitely a top 5 shooting guard of all time in my books. I actually would only put MJ, Kobe and DWade ahead of him and place him at number 4. After that we could have Havlicek(he played some sg aswell!), Sam Jones and the like. The Logo isn't here because I consider Jerry West as a point guard. But yeah, definitely a top 5 sg of all time.
I really belive this Rockets vs Bulls could end as one if not the most awesome battle in the finals prime jordan vs prime drex and by the way bulls never face prime Hakeem … as for max vs drex… I pic drex 9 out of 10 and that 1 is due healthy not performance. in the list of SG Drex is in the top 10 all time maybe right un der the top 5 JM, kobe, Manu, klay, Wade , Drex … Allen, Dummars, Gervin, Miller /Iverson/ T mac.
3rd
That was a really great team that peaked at the right time, defeating 3 60 win teams in route to the finals. Their offense style with one post player surrounded by 4 shooters was the precursor for todays NBA. Way ahead of their time. Would have loved to see this team face Jordan’s Bulls teams.
1. Mj 2. Kb. 3. Clide 4. ?
Bollocks. Where did you get that from. Hd played with Hakeem in college and was welcomed into the team. The only person who was pissed was Vernon Maxwell cos he lost his spot.
Kenny Smith: "Who is this guy? Like, we beat you last year dude." Lol. Who exactly did Kenny Smith think he was looking down on the Glyde like that? Like, you're a role player dude. You ain't Hakeem. You're not leading anyone to an NBA FInals. You're not even elite at your position. Drexler had LED his team to the Finals twice, and is literally the second best SG in the game after MJ.
Top 5 SG all Time
In my area! Top 5
Drexler is definitely Top 5:
1. Michael Jordan
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Dwayne Wade
4. Jerry West
5. Clyde Drexler
6. Allen Iverson
7. Klay Thompson
8. George Gervin
9. Reggie Miller
10. Ray Allen
Clyde was a machine, I don't know what this rockets players were thinking.
Clyde did what any star caliber player would’ve done at that time of his career. Don’t mean I gotta respect it, but I understand. They were rebuilding.
