CONSIDER HIM. INCOMING ALL-NBA SUPER MAX EXTENSION

Gets my vote for team MVP. Stepping up when needed. I love Tatum but JB is my favorite CELTIC! Could be Timelord though if he stayed healthy.

He should be CelticsBlog player of the week – but that blog has mysteriously avoided posting a player of the week award this week. Perhaps because they are constantly cherry-picking on Jaylen’s weaknesses and sponsoring hatchet jobs on Jaylen for readership (e.g. Jack Simone’s articles).

  6. JB>JT. Still not taking questions on this topic

We reeeeeeeaaaalllly need Jaylen to make all NBA so we can offer him the massive supermax extension this summer. Then we don’t have to listen to ESPN go on and on about him leaving

Has been a bright spot in an otherwise rough stretch

I completely understand how JB might have doubts about his role in the organization. When has a player of JB’s caliber been put on the trading block in the off season after a finals run? OKC traded Harden after their finals appearance, and that was a huge mistake which they still haven’t fully recovered from. Then the Cavs traded Kyrie, but he asked for that trade and it’s not like it made the Cavs better off.

If JB doesn’t make all-NBA, then money isn’t a factor. When money is equal, all you have is loyalty, and repeatedly putting JB’s name on the trading block is a sure fire way to show a lack of loyalty and commitment to JB’s future with the team. Danny pulled off some magic with the big three, but he didn’t have Red’s loyalty. Putting Ray on the trading block is why he left, and we could be repeating history with JB right now.

For context, here’s Bird talking about Danny saying that Red made a mistake for not trading McHale/Parish/Bird in the late 80s.

    > [One thing about Red was loyalty, and that’s why I never wanted to leave there because I always knew that he had my back.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKDOkYT88tY)
