JJ Redick and Tim Legler Break Down The COMPLICATED Western Conference Playoff Picture

In this clip, JJ Redick and Tim Legler dissect the impossible to predict Western Conference. Is Nikola Jokic and The Denver Nuggets really THE Favorites? Are The Clippers coming? How are Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and The Phoenix Suns not the favorites? Are The Sacramento Kings ready for a deep run? Can LeBron James and The Lakers or Stephen Curry and The Warriors make a big run? What about Ja Morant and The Memphis Grizzlies or Luka Doncic and The Dallas Mavericks? So much to figure out!

  1. i think ppl dont appreciate how talented the league is. Besides houstan, spurs, detroit and charlotte, all legit teams with multiple 18-20ppg guys, even the rockets as bad as they are have talent, hence why every teams record is .500

  2. Deep playoff runs have traditionally anchored on Defense and a team or 2 going on a hot offensive streak and clutch execution. That has been the most reliable thumb-rule going by historical perspective. Denver, Sac, Mavs even Suns have all questionable defense and up and down results due to their over reliance on offense….
I think to sort out the confusion, I would pick the best defensive unit that can put an efficient offensive streak together and poise under pressure and in the clutch can win….
I think the Grizzlies have the best D amongst the contenders esp. if Steven Adams returns and even the Lakers (if they can somehow get in to the playoffs and get back a relatively healthy Lebron) can make a run with their recently retooled defense.

  3. Curry GSW only won one playoff series before they won it all. People forget that. They beat Nuggets in 2013, bounced in the first in 2014 and won it all 2015. Playoffs experience is being overrated. KD OKC I think lost in 2011 to the Lakers first round and then made the finals in 2012.

  4. MB has the most coaching experience in the West. He is great at making plans in a series especially since he is defensive mind set.

  5. They do know that PG has had a season ending injury ryt?
Or was this recorded before that?lol

  6. Suns literally only have spurs as an easy match up for the rest of the way……i don't see them winning even 20% of their matches without kd
And if that happens, they are ending up in the 11th position lol

  7. Love how happy we are to see a superteam like PHX be put together. If this was 10yrs ago we’d be trying to burn PHX down lmao Lakers in 4

  8. Denver isn’t coming out of the west. Timmy knows that, too. He’s just giving a proper answer.

  9. No one will stop a healthy Phoenix. If they're injured: Denver, LAL, or Warriors will win west.

  10. The wild wild west is in full effect . I think the east first round is going to go as it should but the west is going to be wild

  11. love how reddick isn't about all these hot takes, instead it's composed, reasonable discussion. maybe the rest of teh espn crew can take some notes lol😂

  12. I think the kings have a legitimate chance to make a run, people have already written them off as just having a good regular season. They have the best offense in the NBA, and they've been playing together all season. the biggest question about the west is whos gonna be healthy. The kings have been healthy and have found their rotation where everyone knows their role.

  13. I still to this day do not understand the media darling clippers
They have done nothing to be given benefit of the doubt like they're contenders and got swept by the Nuggets this year and smacked by the kings multiple times
    Do not get it

  14. Seems like this was recorded BEFORE the injury to PG. Clippers WITHOUT PG won't be enough to win the West EVEN IF by some anomaly, Russ relives "MVP Westbrook". Still won't be enough. Kawhi won't be able to carry this team all the way.
