The more I watch Dort chuck up long awful jumpers in back to back possessions in a pivotal game, the more I want Jdub to take some of Dort’s looks on offense, especially when one player is making over half of his shots every game, and the other one is missing all of his.

Me in my head right now: at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well at least Russell played well

    Conflicted feelings.

On one hand, I want this season to end just to have Chet back and see how our young guys improve after another offseason.

On the other hand, I don’t want this season to end because games like this have been rare, and I’ll just miss Thunder basketball a fucking lot.

Btw, about that offseason comment, Shai talked about it the other day. He said all the guys were locked in during the summer to try and improve their games. If they can keep that mentality going, we’ll see some great results in a few years.

Welp hard to beat any team that shoots 48% from 3. Glad we split the mini series, hopefully gain some juice off this loss for tomorrow.

  5. DJ-two-timing-timmy

From looking at the stats, bench didn’t contribute enough and Dort had a shocker

Bad night. Shai looked a little too beat up and tired, despite the 30. Probably should sit tomorrow night. The shooting was off for the team. Lakers should beat us tomorrow. We really needed this game for the momentum and the hope that the Clippers would be falling. So, we don’t really look like a team that can do anything in the play offs. Stamina wasnt there. Probably time to call the year as a fan hoping for a better draft pick.

  7. WaltersBurnerPhone

I guess Kawhi took the last possession the other night personally.

  8. Clipps are good even wout PG and this wasnt our night. Need to beat the Lakers though

    JDub > Dort

Dort did not play team basketball on offense tonight. It was infuriating, especially in a VERY important game. There are zero excuses for him to play 30 minutes and waste so many possessions, I don’t care how good his defense is. He should know better.

Dort needs to check himself. On offence and his recklessness.

I love the back and forth with kawhi and dort. Great players have great battles. Also russ played well which is always great to see. Hope we can get the next one against the lakers

If we want to play well in next year’s play offs, they should consider load management next year for Shai. His games requires that he get beat up a lot. To win a championship would require another thirty games from here and it’s really too much for his type of game.

Meh clippers caught fire at the end of the third not much you can do about that it happens just unfortunate to happen in such an important game. Big bounce back game tomorrow I have faith in the boys!!

How many nights are we going to complain about Dort being a headache on offense? This is who he is. He’ll go off every so often from 3, but it’s not worth everything that comes in between. If we want a to raise the ceiling of this team, we must find a way to replace him in the starting lineup.

This game made me think about wings.

Wing scorers are such a thing in today’s NBA, maybe always in the NBA.

When things aren’t clicking and things are grindy, it’s a luxury for teams to be able to give the ball to their wing scorer and just have them muscle their way into a good look, or to have them just rise up and shoot over their defender. How many key possessions today were just Kawhi being Kawhi?

I am a *huge* believer in Shai and JDub, and they both have *excellent* size for guards, but they are both guards, to be fair.

Shai is the only player we have right now who can just iso up and methodically get a good look. JDub theoretically can, but right now he likes to take what the defense gives him and go with the flow, rather than stopping the flow and just taking a shot like a Kawhi type.

I’m worried about Dort’s performance as much as everyone else, but how much is it not having anyone else to take those shots and how much is it Dort calling his own number too much? I’m not sure, and it could easily be the latter sadly, but I feel like there’s a bit of both there.

I love this offense when it’s all rhythm and flow, but the flow tends to go away when things get all grindy and playoff-y, which it kinda did tonight.

I wonder. Ous’s development might be huge for our team, as if he can become a Paul George type who can get off a good midrange look whenever he feels like it, it could be transformative for the team. Not saying he needs to become a star scorer or that he’s for sure got that dawg or anything (here’s hoping he does), but he could be really successful if he continues with the flowing fluid style he currently has but also learns to assert himself sometimes and isolate using his size and high release.

  16. Kinda random based on highlights I saw but I always thought Giddey telegraphs his passes too much, like you know when he’s looking to do it and it seems Kawhi was ready for it too. He needs to be less predictable.

  17. Have a feeling if that Lakers B2B weren’t on schedule they would have matched SGAs minutes with Kawhi.

Dort has to be smarter on offense, he’s killing some of the value he provides on defense with the shots he takes.

I don’t care. Please, please whoop the LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLakers tomorrow
