Everyone knew on a better fitting roster Westbrook could be a solid role player. Even most lakers fans acknowledged he’s worth at least a minimum contract (maybe even the taxpayers MLE next off-season).
That doesn’t change that he was sometimes a negative impact player for the lakers, because his skillset did not fit their needs. Even when he played well, he was still never worth the depth they sacrificed to acquire him.
I’m happy he found a situation that makes more sense. Both the lakers & Westbrook are both happier now that they have better fitting pieces around them.
