Taylor Jenkins Appreciation Post

[At the time of his hire, he was 34 and entered NBA history as one of the youngest coaches ever.](https://media.tenor.com/xTuBNGtc8x0AAAAC/taylor-jenkins-goes-crazy.gif)

After his rookie coaching year, TJenk has posted a winning record every year. He’s currently only older than Hardy, Mazzulla , and Daigneault.

I could go on about the master class in Coaching TJenk puts on, but suffice it to say, regardless of the Man-Games missed, not having his preferred starting five for most of the season (the last three seasons really), he has still guided this team to the playoffs three out of his four years in Memphis (and high seeds the last two).

And some fun notes, Taylor Jenkins is only a few months older than Lebron; and like his former boss, Pop, started his coaching career at 24.

We didn’t have a better picture of him?

People will occasionally pile on this dude for his rotations and minutes allocations, but right now the entire reason the team is succeeding is because of exactly that.

He will drop games because he wants to see what certain lineups can do and what works (and doesn’t) and then come stretch time it pays dividends. The only thing that’s consistently held him back are injuries.

hes not perfect but he’s still good and he has some time to grow. his test is the playoffs, not the regular season, as much as we want to see playoff-style coaching right now.

  4. Despite his roations, minute allocations, and also 4th Quarter struggles, Coach T is amazing. Even at 2019 – 2020 season, he kept us alive in the fight for 8th despite all the injuries & heartbreaking losses we suffered in the bubble and we almost pulled off what seemed impossible.

Hopefully he can be an awesome playoff coach.

If Thibs didn’t win COTY that one year in place of Monty, TJenk would already be Coach of the Year. His rotations may make me lose my hair, but he is a big contributor to our current success
