[NekiasNBA] Best defense in the NBA since the All-Star break? Best transition defense in the NBA, period? Yep, that’s the Charlotte Hornets.

Best transition defense in the NBA, period?
Yep, that's the Charlotte Hornets. Just like we all expected.
Can't overstate how hard these guys are working, and that speaks to the buy-in Steve Clifford is getting.

Why stop there? Best team in the NBA, period. At least according to the Mavs
Next season should be interesting
Mark Williams effect
This is fantastic analysis.
Being very good at transition defense is almost a stylistic choice as much as it is a stat that shows we are good at defense
That’s a Steve Clifford team for you.
How the fuck is Mark that good?
I’m sorry, but this is meaningless IMO. We get some statistic like this every season. “Hornets are the best at this or that since the ASB.”
Well, it hasn’t resulted in playoff berths since 2016. And it hasn’t translated into the next season either. So excuse me if I think these metrics are horseshit feelgood nonsense. If we were really good at basketball we wouldn’t be bottomfeeders. We’d be solidly in the playoffs or at least in the hunt, but we aren’t. We’re on track for a top five pick.
