Nick, if you see Nico or Mark, can you ask them what they think of Kidd's coaching this season? The Nets pre KD and Kyrie trade were languishing before they fired Nash and from there Nets surged up and are playing competitive basketball even with their no-star lineup now.
Let's sign up Kyrie next season and then trade him to the Lakers for Austin Reaves, DLo, and Vanderbilt. Actually, Austin for Kyrie will suffice, Dlo and Vanderbilt are just for salary considerations 😁. Austin is balling for the Lakers, hustling and playing great defense, getting to the free throw line, hitting clutch shots, and finishing games.
I want to know why Wood is playing 17 min and McGee 0 min? Do you know how many offensive rebounds Mavs had last game? 2. Two offensive rebounds in a game that goes for 48 min. If you put me, you and anyone on that court and we play 48 min, you don't think we could get 3 rebounds? Lol. Charlotte had 14. That is 12 more possessions than Mavs. Considering they shot around 40 something percent lets say they scored 5 times from that alone. That is a 10 point swing. How about that for the analytics? And Wood and McGee don't play argument is bad. Like Tim and Maxi are playing some godly defense lol. But they get to play 30 plus min.
Luka carried the game as much as he could, there is only so much you can do when you are consistently outrebounded and give easy points in the paint because you don't have a CENTER ALL FUCKING SEASON!!!!!!!
They need to start Wood and McGee and play them more than 25 min every game until they figure out the rebounding and rim protection problem they have. Luka and Kyrie can score you 40 solo any given game, but you can't ask Luka to also be your primary rim protector and rebounder. Maxi and Powell are good hustle players and all that, they don't have the size to play those roles. Tim is sometimes a great shooter and a scorer and most other times he is not. He needs to play 17 min and the moment he misses 3 shots take him out the game like what JK does to CW the moment one players scores on him (but everyone else can get to watch on defense all fucking game, they are one of the worst defensive teams in the league).
Main problem has been size for rebounding and protecting easy layups since last year and that's something a sunday amateur basketball player can see but hall of famer JK who was a genius on the court and great at playing and setting up his pf and centers for some reason can't.

They are playing without a real center or even a power forward all season. Dwight Powell is a beach volleyball player who hustles, no a real pf. Maxi Klieber is a wing player. No one plays like that in a league, Mavs play without two of the main positions because they want to reinvent the wheel. Go play small ball so if gods smile upon you and you go for 50% from 3 you can win vs anyone. Problem is who is shooting those 3s? Not Reggie Miller, guys who are hot every other game. So you get what you get a lil bellow 50% win rate.

Well if we look at it fully we only lost one or two games with JUST kyrie and no luka. We haven’t won a game with luka alone since the trade. Kyrie and luka are a dumb fit!!! How can you take a fast paste player with the slowest player in the game it won’t mesh well

This team needs at least one true defensiv anker player. With such a player all the others will look better and will do better.

They were bad before kyrie trade. And Kyrie didn’t solve any of their personell issues. He was an upgrade of Spence. And Spence wasn’t the problem. DFS wasn’t locking anyone up or shooting well before the trade. We got no D and no rim protection still. Most players freeze when given the ball outside of ky and Luka. Same issues all year. Luka leads the team in steals and deflections and rebounds. That’s how bad at D and rebounding they are. Luka and kye are NOT the problem.

Luka is a good foundation but Luka Ball is not, change the coach, teach Luka the concept of less is more and get him to play off ball and do less. That's the direction Mavs needs to go.
It could be 1 game left in the season and 5 games out of the play in and Isaac would still say “hey we got Luka and Kyrie if we make it in to the play in anything could happen!”
