Lu is easily the worst rim finisher in the NBA.
One of the worst decision makers.
He isn’t part of the next great Thunder team.
His effort on defense is great but it’s highlighted because 95% of the league don’t really play D.
His minutes would be better served going to a young player with more upside
I don’t think Lu Dort is a part of the future. I think that his only role on this team would be off the bench for defensive help when they need a stop. That being said $15 million a year is too steep for a guy who is so often a liability on the offensive end. Moving JDub to the 3 when they’re healthy would be much better than having Dort there in my opinion. If Poku and Dieng can take a step next year and be the stretch 4 they’re supposed to be, having size would be more beneficial than running Dort out to prove things he’s been trying to prove for 4 years.

Dort is boom or bust. He’s helping us win 50% of the time. His finishing ability is unacceptable and needs extensive work. He’s got to shoot less or get better at it. If he can get better at those things he’s solid, if not he needs a reduced role or even a trade (if presti can conjure up something that will help the team more).
Lu Dort is a champion. How fickle are OKC supporters to turn on him after loving him for stopping kawhi leonard getting a shot off or sinking 5 triples to turn a game
I think Dort will be an invaluable player off the bench for OKC as his on ball defence is at an elite level, and while he isn't massive on offense, fewer minutes as a defensive specialist will work well on this team

We show faith in the players the team and the coaches so realistically lu's role will be redefined before next season and as early as the play in play off this year just let it ride he knows better and when it's not his night to recognise and make better decisions is a starter if plays his best role otherwise Wiggins needs to have a solid case as a starter just imo sha,giddey,Wiggins jdub,Jwill,6th man is our faith in lu D on D ? Or corner for 3 and IJoe on the other we looking good have faith in thunder we trust !!!
I love what Dort brings. Elite defense. Spotty shooting but has got better. Plays hard. Could easily be a “Grease” for the thunder gears. Much like draymond to gsw.
Lu Dort is young PJ Tucker. Know your role. Play D. Shoot the 3 in the corner. Don’t do anything else.
Tre Manns 3pt% has improved 5 straight mos. (Look it up) . Maybe its time to drop Dort from a 31min/game player to 24min? And give Tre' that extra 7min? If Tre' starts off slow, fine, yank him & give Waters a shot.
I don't like or appreciate the lu dort hate first of all this isn't his game that there asking him to play right now… And also I didn't here one person complaining when kawaii was attempting to get that game winner off and he completely locked him downndort is a beast and we're extremely lucky to have him he's better than 95% of the leagues 5th starter.
Still signs of a very young team with kids that haven’t played an 82 game year, and against a team that shot far above their normal. A lot of the losses came when the opposition shot 45-50% from three. And Sharpe really looks like the real deal. And if Lu hits two threes. He has now had 4 miserable shooting games out of four and is shooting around 30% over 12. Not numbers for a starting guard. But Sam and Mark know what to do. Ad infinitum, Cason is our man.
Very realistic game take and where the Thunder currently stand.
Dort is bizarro Westbrook, and I mean that in a good way. He has the energy, the ability to get to the rim, the competitiveness, stuff like that. but he excels on defense and effort. He's a more willing team player. Because of that, he fits and will be fine. He doesn't have to be a superstar, but just a solid role player. The guy is still super young and has the time to get better. We don't need to bury him when he had already proven to be invaluable.
They’re going through a rough patch, for sure. Absolutely destroyed by the Clippers without PG, lost to an undermanned Lakers squadX and then nearly lose to a team that’s without their 4 best players. Should’ve won this game by 20.
Bench him until he proves he can be a consistent shooter, and bring him in for clutch defensive possessions
