So he’s available right around playoffs?

  2. millagger

Playoffs start on April 16 so he could be back for the entire first round

  3. Usknicks97

2 weeks until a re-evaluation? This is a disaster right before the playoffs man

  4. Living_Internet_2970

Fantastic. Just fantastic. There’s always something with us.

Missing at least 2 weeks stings man. Stings a lot. The Knicks were looking so good lately too. I’m worried about thr playoffs without Julius.

Who gets the backup spot for Obi now? Keels maybe?

Edit: thought Keels was a forward for some reason

  7. larockhead1

Jules is tough and would play at 85% in the playoffs I believe that.

  8. Eddaughter

Hoping it’s just 2 weeks because of rest and not because it’s severe. Well Obi has to step up. Sucks we lose him off the bench but I’m excited to see him with 20+ minutes

    Damn.

I truly believe this team could beat anyone but Celtics/Bucks, maybe take the two of them to 6, but not beat them..

If the Knicks can take the Cavs to 6 without Randle I would be happy.

obviously not a pro basketball player with the medical attention and genes of Julius but I had an high ankle sprain that took 2-3 months to recover. This really scares me the wording

Petition to sit all of our starters every game against the Heat next season

  12. TriviaWhiz

This really stinks for Randle and the Knicks, but it will give a chance for others to step up down the stretch.

I’m interested in seeing how the rotation looks in the final few games.

I was holding out hope for a milder sprain. So, this news is disappointing. This means he might not be back in 2 weeks. It could be three or four. I wouldn’t mind the rest of regular season but we will need Ju for Game 1. I would want a close to full strength Ju too, not a pain management-for-entire-series situation. I guess on the bright side, at least we won last night so we should be OK seeding wise.

  14. hoagiewawa

Not great but at least (at this point) it’s not a considered a high ankle sprain. I choose to remain optimistic that he will be ready by playoffs and this will at least give guys like Obi and Deuce some run if we ended up needing them in the post season.

  15. Onihczarc

he gonna come out like a modern day Reed.

  16. LamarMVPJackson

He’ll be back for game 1. Amelo.

  17. bsanchey

This is the worst news possible. Let’s hope the team can hold together and keep the 5th seed. We held strong when Brunson went down. We can do it.

  18. T-Bills

Man Clyde was just saying how he started every single game this season and his durability is outstanding

  19. Joezepey

Guarantee he’s starting game 1. King Julius is built different

  20. JerryBlitter

You guys saying this is a good thing because he needed a break mentally and physically are blowing my stupid little mind. I don’t know if you’re just deluding yourselves with a fabricated silver lining or what, but it is not making sense.

Let’s hope our all-nba forward beats the time table and can be healthy enough to be effective for the first round. We need him.

  21. jett1406

no surprises it came against the dirty heat

  22. baddumbtsss

It’s always fucking Miami. Brunson got hurt both games against them and now Julius who’s been an iron man for us.

  23. stemurph88

This is a blessing in disguise. Our team is going to run and gun this post season. No fault of Julius but I think we are just faster with out him and play slightly more cohesively. And when he comes back, we’ll be even better.

  24. spaceninj

Kevin Durant injured his ankle on March 8. The Suns said he would be out 3 weeks and reevaluated in 2. He came back on March 29, exactly 3 weeks.

Now I don’t know the severity, but KD’s legs are like Slenderman and he made it back. 17 days may be enough for Randle.

  25. Green__Bananas

If we miss him in the first round, this will be this generation’s version of the Ewing theory

  26. SanchezPrime

    It’s Obi-wan Toppin Time!

    Let’s have hope and faith!

  27. WearSomeClothes

If he is out more than 2 weeks, the season will be done. We cannot catch a break!

  28. CannibalFest2024

Julius gonna channel Willis Reed and hobble his way to a ring.

  29. ObviousAnswerGuy

this is not good. but i guess it could be worse

  30. dorknewyork

Give him some stem cells from LeBron

  31. DidiGreglorius

He should be back for the first round or at least midway through it.

I think it’s critical we do not rush him back at all as tempting as it may be. This has been an amazing season but with a few good moves we will be true contenders in years to come. Don’t put the future at risk for a year where we’re gonna be road underdogs regardless.

Also as a silver lining, I’m excited to see how we manage without him now that seeding is pretty much locked up. Maybe Obi fills the stat sheet a bit with some extended run. But I’m really excited to see some small shooting oriented lineups — 4 of Brunson/Quickley/Barrett/Grimes/Hart next to Mitch/Hart could be very fun.

  32. Tiffin2b

Julius going to pull a Willis Reed and lead us to the title.

  33. ted_the_ked1

It will be interesting to see how we play the cavs without him and it could be a good tell into how our first round matchup shakes out. I’m not too worried about him missing time especially because he could definitely come back midway through the first series or even right before. Sprains are the worst though I had 3 sprains in high school and one took 7 days to recover another took 2 weeks and the 3rd took almost 3 months so it’s a total crap shoot
