I want to see more games with D’lo in the lineup to speak more on his actual defense – but he does seem to be a great communicator on that end. He’s always talking and pointing out rotations

DLo is average at best at on ball defense, but hes a very good team defender and communicator
I’m an idiot. Is a higher or lower number better here?

The stats are surprising given his reputation, but watching the games it makes sense. He’s engaged on defense. He’s trying hard, he may not be great at stopping individual players but he’s putting in the effort. On top of that he has very good court awareness and has a very good sense of where the ball is going. He uses his deceptive length to intercept a couple passes a game, disrupt passing lanes and poke the ball out of people’s hands. He’s very vocal which is important to team D as well. When they traded for him I was worried he’ll be a defensive sieve but figured the offense should make up for it. Everything he’s shown so far has been a pleasant surprise on D and he doesn’t seem like a big liability. I think the team has also done a good job helping when he ends up rotated into a mismatch especially with the rest of the guys around him being strong defensive players.

Never thought I’d see DLo DPOY propaganda in my lifetime but I’m not complaining.

I’m a wolves and lakers fan, he was the main reason we had a good defense last season and this season because he always calling stuff out and directing guys

Love that he’s always engaged defensively despite it not being his strong suit.
Remember his ‘can he shoot?’ on Alvarado lol

I’m so proud of DLo. I remember when him and Clarkson were our starting backcourt and we really struggled defensively. It’s obvious DLo has worked hard on and improved multiple facets of his game, offensively, defensively, and mentally.

He talks a lot and has a 6’10 wingspan

How can it be the best if its just equal to Twolves lineup? 111DRTG is the same as 111 DRTG.

It is the same case of BroLo the player he was traded for.
Lopes is a poor rebounder, but every team has better rebound numbers with him on the floor because nobody boxes out like him.
Dlo was always an intelligent kid. He is unathletic, but he is committed and has learned to read offenses and now he is able to use his length to be a disruptive team defender even if he still needs help defending his own man.
