They gave up too much for a player that doesn't marginally improve your roster. Kyrie is an efficient scorer but you can find that for much cheaper elsewhere without trading away all your depth.
I don't blame Kyrie for what happened in Boston. Kyrie got hurt a month before the playoffs, and the Celtics got lucky as you know what and made it to the ECF without him. That made Tatum and Brown and Smart all think they didn't need Kyrie, so when he came back the next year, they didn't want to take a backseat to him and that's what caused the friction. I mean, if I was considered a superstar player and you're going to act like you don't need me, then yea, I'll go somewhere else.
Kyrie just got there and is the best guard in Mavs history in my opinion. He didnāt hurt that team. At the end of the day Kyrie is a proven NBA champion
