Why Steph Curry & Golden State Warriors desperately need Andrew Wiggins back | Colin Cowherd NBA

Colin Cowherd and Jason Timpf, host of ‘Hoops Tonight,’ debate whether Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors need Andrew Wiggins back in the lineup to make another NBA Finals run. Jason also explains to Colin why he’s very tempted to pick LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to win the Western Conference.

  1. They need to stop saying they “need” wigs to win it would be nice to have him back in the line up. I personally think he will be back for the 1st or 2nd round

  2. I’m not sure why Colin (and some others) are always making Jeremy Lin into some sort of punchline when they talk about Austin Reeves… like “this isn’t a Linsanity situation… Austin is actually good”.

Lin had an 8 yr career that was cut short by injuries and he had to play with some of the most ball dominant players of this era (Melo, Kobe, Harden)… which is tough for a PG that needs the ball. Lin was a solid player. Good passer, high IQ and not afraid to take the big shot. I think that Austin compares to him very favourably. He’s just in a better situation.

  3. It's time for Wiggins to get back to work! His team needs him now! His personal drama will be there regardless!

  4. while wiggs is super important, Kuminga has stepped up in that defensive role that Andrew played in the playoffs. Obviously, he's not as good BUT we have Donte this year to help with that. I think they can still win without Wiggs but I really hope he returns this season.

  5. If divincenzo can step up along with kuminga and lock people down instead of foul or t/o we will be ok. With that being said, we need wiggs

  6. Kuminga since the all star break has been extremely consistent. Especially defensively. Saying he’s been inconsistent just isn’t true

  7. Wiggins rebounding is crucial in the playoffs especially on the road. Looney's ability to jocky for position helps Wiggs, Dray, Steph and Klay to get the loose ball. We need him to go all the way or JK is going to have to play the SF position instead.

  8. We have to look at the past.. the Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers in the WCF and in every one of those games they came back from 16 to 20 points down

  9. Lakers had 37 free throw attempts with no Lebron or AD against the Rockets and still lost. It’s one thing to have more free throws it’s another thing to have double or triple the free throws on a nightly bases.

  10. I am pretty sure all Warriors fans know they need Wiggins for a chance at the title. I think there is just a belief that he won't leave his teammates hanging when the playoffs roll around. They have been so understanding and patient with him, and he has taken more time than anyone can argue is "reasonable." There is pretty much no reason that exists to stay away for as long as he has, if you have a child die (for a worst case example of "personal issues") you maybe get a couple weeks in any other profession. At this point he definitely owes the team his presence, his best effort, and attention come playoff time.

  11. how do they know he is not working out? Maybe not NBA shape, but he's not sitting around eating corndogs and Bon Bons.

  12. You talk about the Warriors for a couple of minutes and spend the rest on Lakers, don’t like that.

  13. Cowherd has low sports IQ…the same guy who said Derek Carr is a winner in Oakland. This guy states the obvious. Nothing new or insightful.

  14. Phoenix b**** about it because they get about half of the attempts as the team they are playing

  15. Shout out to wiggs tho man, to go from "Draft Bust" to a guy a championship team desperately needs is nothing but hard work

  16. Omg the same story every single year…. 😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪

  17. Wiseman ended up injured and kind of a bust. The fact that they won the 2022 title with zero production from their 2020 #2 overall draft pick is kind of insane.

  18. Lebron should have been hit with a technical for his temper tantrum. Instead, one of the officials came over and apologetically patted the crybaby on the shoulder. Can you imagine what would have happened if Draymond had behaved in such an immature manner? There would have been a technical called, and there would have been no need for overtime! The league has cheated for "Superhero" LeBron for years. Would he have ever gotten to the finals over the Celtics if not for the rampant cheating during his years with the Heat? I saw every minute of every game, and I know he wouldn't have! And the cheating against the Warriors in 2016 was criminal. Ayesha spoke the gospel truth when she tweeted that the Finals were rigged in favor of the Cavs. The league fell all over itself to get "Believeland" their first title in fifty years. I recognize that LeBron is a great athlete, and I love his politics, but on the court, he is the biggest flopper and crybaby the league has ever seen.

  19. They wasn't gone win the championship with Wiggins but they was gone atleast get to the 2nd or 3rd rd

  20. Wiggins is not the factor that people seem to think. Durant being healthy for the Suns is the biggest factor in the whole Western Conference. If he stays healthy, the Suns will be fine throughout. The Suns and Nuggets are the only legit contenders for the Finals. So much wasted time talking about Golden State and L.A., neither are going anywhere!

  21. Everybody else on earth that has "issues" still have to work so wiggins is blessed so why come back hell the warriors are paying him to not work. In the real world that shit dont fly but these "Stressed over worked ball players🙄" dont have to do anything they dont want to do.

  22. Let’s not forget Steve Kerr puts Steph on some weirdo rotations in the regular season that have cost them soooo many games. Him playing normal minutes in the playoffs will already make them so much better

  23. Hell no that explanation can’t suffice with out help from the refs I’m not saying it’s rigged but no team is that good to be 400 free throws plus

  24. i would have put baldwin Jr. in every game to give him available minutes. He has physical agility like a Kuminga and Wiggs. These types can get rebounds, blocks and play both ends of the court.

  25. This guy is the is the true meaning of BULLSHIT. As soon as the Warriors start to eliminate teams this guy is going to be the in fron of screen screaming. I pickked tue Warrior. Tye only reason wh6 i stop to watch only 1 minute is bexause they were talkimg Warrior. The man has worst shit opinion i hurd on TV. He's up there with the guy on Fox that super skinny with a long that come out of First things first. These guys are silly.
