If you’re still expecting this team to be anything other than what it is then you like being miserable. They boys put up a decent fight, Scottie has to be our future and keep OG just because I like him. Everything else was nice while it lasted.

  2. iwasomla

I got second hand embarrassment watching Siakam and Vanvleet tonight. That was fucking horrible.

Can’t have your leaders playing that poorly on both ends of the floor and expect to win.

  3. pantsacus

Why watch games hoping for wins when you could just watch games to see our man Scottie cook?

  4. pascalshaka

At least Scottie was a beast. Hustling all game for offensive boards, disrupting the passing lanes, making good cuts and also hitting cutters. Still a long way to go, but he just makes winning plays. Build around Scottie

  5. Scottie’s sophmore slump was really just FVV and Pascal being inefficient ballhogs. He finally figured out he’s our best player and said fuck it.

As far as this game goes it’s criminal Fred played the 4th. Put in Dowtin or Boucher over him for the D, and let Scottie cook. Absolutely no reason the ball should be in his hands.

  6. crumpledbrouhaha

29/9/8 with 5 stocks Masai open your eyes PLEASE

  7. VikGrabo84

42 minutes from starters in another loss – road record is still shit; zero prospects for playoffs if we can barely compete on the road.

No, our defense was not good – we play GREAT defense like 15% of the time, and shit defense 85% of the time; if Sixers didn’t miss about 12 WIDE open 3s, this game is a blowout, just as it was at half.

  8. Cheechers23

There’s genuinely nothing about this team that can make you confident about a playoff game, especially on the offensive end. We’re so consistently awful in clutch situations and close games – where the game slows down, which is what the playoffs are all about.

On defence they’re so incredibly inconsistent. You have no idea what effort level they’re gonna give. They played practically 0 defence in the first half tonight. You can’t have any confidence in them for a couple play-in games cause who knows what defensive effort they’re gonna give, and the offence is so bad in the halfcourt they won’t be able to do anything.

Good fight to comeback but they shouldn’t be falling behind that much that early so easily.

Pascal has had the opposite of last season this year. Started out strong and has completely flamed out since the ASB. The only (slightly) good thing coming from that is he seems to have played himself out of a supermax this summer.

  9. NorthernViews

Welcome to the Guangdong Tigers, Fred Vanvleet!

  10. boxand1defense-

Give the keys to Scottie. This is his team now.

  11. Where are all those people ready to claim how our starting 5 is the best in the nba?

    Where y’all at?

  12. TheseBitchesLoveSoba

This game was proof we need to hand Scottie the keys and get the other two guys out of the team.

  13. Legitimate-Row7081

i cant believe masai decided to build around this shit… the only ppl he is fooling are casuals who literally dont understand talent in the nba . Building around siakam who never shows up in the 4th and fvv the chucker who thinks he is curry

  14. TradingPokemonSWSH

We are what the Bulls were last year, only could beat teams below .500

Maybe we will make the playoffs like how they did tho 👀👀 (and lose in 5)

  15. Dxwalsh12

Scottie was clearly the best player for the Raptors tonight. Try getting some experience this year and let Scottie cook next season

  16. ImmaFunGuy

Trade FVV before he ruins Scottie’s growth trajectory seriously …

  17. Poeltl need more shots. FVV isn’t doing his job.

  18. Doughy_Joey

Ah shit we lost a game time to trade everyone and rebuild from the ground up lol

Naw jk I’m not too made at this game we had a really good effort in the second half and Scottie played decently so thats cool

Im hoping we can take some wins from these next couple games

  19. ballin4ever

Said this in /r/nba, but committing to Siakam is not worth it if you’re the raptors because you are just stunting Scottie’s growth. Even near the end, it was Scottie commanding the double teams, while Siakam proved he can’t close these games.

I love Pascal, and he’s a better player than Scottie right now, but it’s not hard to see how Scottie would flourish if he didn’t have to play with a high usage player at the same position as him.

  20. TheseBitchesLoveSoba

Scottie 29/8/9 – this should be the direction we’re headed, but Masai still stuck on this core

  21. keegsbrou

Scottie has legitimately been on the top of our scoring game after game and nurse can’t look at it and say “Huh, maybe we should be giving this guy more looks?”

  22. DarkChocolate_69

Our 2 highest paid players letting us down yet again during crunch time after Scottie brought us back into the game. Tuff lol

  23. attainwealthswiftly

We already know Siakam is statistically ass in the 4th, why are we isoing him down the stretch to try and win?

  24. Legitimate-Row7081

siakam has been a no show for half the season.. watch ppl bring up him averaging like 23 points on 56% shooting as proof he did. he vanished just like he did in the playoffs last year

  25. Artohn08

Classic raptors game, we’ve seen it all before. Early slump against big team, bring it back in the 3rd quarter just to slump again and lose in the fourth. Somethings got to change, give Scottie and OG the keys, I love Siakam but tonight he killed our offence and Fred is just Fred.

  26. Doughy_Joey

Lmao its like you can predict who’s gonna post in these postgame loss threads

Are you guys really fans if you only come around when we lose?

  27. Pascal… You ain’t Kyrie why are you trying these stupid dribble handles that never works and shoot a heavily contested fadeaway? But some of you will STILL say the dude is an untouchable asset.

I don’t even want to talk about Fred, selling when the game is close as always.

    Give the keys to Scottie.

  28. The sooner we build around Scottie the better

  29. Inside-Economics-195

This game is basically proof how +/- is a useless stat but ppl here still want to use it to push their agendas, though this time it’s positive towards Fred so I doubt it will happen for this game 🤣

  30. zigmatters

Siakam and Fred are so bad in the final 5 min

  31. Ecstatic-Buy-2907

Fred Vanvleet play well against the sixers challenge (impossible)

And somehow Siakam was worse, I don’t think he made a shot in the 2nd half

At least it wasn’t all negative. Scottie was a fucking beast tonight, our role players played well and we are one really bad second quarter from winning this game

Just a good, honest .500 team

  32. i_donut_no_y

I wonder what the lockerroom sounds like after a game like this lol

  33. DomincNdo

Our 2 highest paid players, so called leader of the team, aka best players, Pascal and Fred combined for

    33pts on 32 shots with 8 turnovers

    Scottie by himself

    13/19 for 29pts 9rbs (7 are offensive) 8asts and 2 turnovers

Down the stretch Fred was doing his best Westbrook impression, Pascal trying to emulate Kevin Bacon in Hollowman as per usual, and Scottie put on his Superman cape

  34. Kevita24

I’m starting to jump on the “trade Siakam’ bandwagon, not because I don’t think he’s a great player, I still consider him a top 15 player, but because we need to pick a direction and bringing in more youth to build around Barnes, which seems like the move right now…Trading Siakam (and who ever else) seems like the surest and fastest route to rebuilding, load up on young talent, draft capital and give Barnes the keys to the city…

The only other option is to re-tool around Siakam and Barnes but I don’t see that due winning a championship together so why continue to force something that’s not working?

  35. Goulet231

It was a good effort, considering I thought we’d get clobbered. Miss Gary a lot.

  36. n3moh0es

no way i’m watching 4 more years of fred dude. he isn’t good i don’t care about his fake 30 point games

  37. zigmatters

Siakam will never be him without a consistent jumper

  38. n3moh0es

harden is “washed” but is still levels above siakam and fred lol and people wanna keep this core

  39. chrisPjelly

This team is so incredibly frustrating. Scottie’s the future, so there’s that glimmer of hope. I just don’t have any patience left for this core. Pascal has been so incredibly disappointing as of late.

  40. naveedhahmad

The Raptors were down by 13 at the start of the 4th. It was Freddie who guided the team to cut it to 2 with 6 minutes left. Yes he had some turnovers over the next few minutes. It happens because that’s BASKETBALL.

Scottie couldn’t “take over” at the end of the game because he was being double-teamed. He had some turnovers at the end too, but it happens because that’s BASKETBALL.

The amount of disrespect you so called “fans” have in this sub is embarrassing. It’s clear a lot of you don’t have the knowledge or maturity to truly talk about basketball. It’s clear you’re not even watching the game. It’s sad that I can go to the post-game chat in r/nba and get more thoughtful and measured takes from Sixers fans who actually watched the game.

I’m proud of this Raptors for fighting on the road against a great Sixers team. They battled hard. On to Charlotte.
