They always talk about advanced stats but never explain what they are and how exactly they are skewed. They are objective criteria that measure a players impact on the court in terms of scoring more or less points, and at last check that mattered. The Nuggets regular season record wasn't great until this year. Based on their regular seasons, it wasn't surprising that they didn't make deep runs in the playoffs. This year it would be.
He lost credit for no other reason than he didn't face off directly with his MVP rival. His team losing had nothing to do with him losing credit. It was just simply the fact that he didn't go head to head with Jokic.
