[Charania] All-NBA teams will be positionless in the new collective bargaining agreement, with a 65-game minimum to be eligible for selection, sources tell me and @MikeVorkunov.

Interesting
deandre jordan legacy points added
Well they paired something smart with the stupid at least
Haha, April Fool’s.
Please?
Thatās a massive W. Embiid will finally get All-NBA first team next year as long as he clears 65 games lol
Good. Bums like Deandre Jordan were making all nba teams because of this while Jokic and Embiid couldnāt both make the first team
This seems like a great move, right?
So now it’s just top 15 players. Kinda lame
65 games seems reasonable.
Don’t like a top 15 players list
All this to appease a whining Cameroonian
That’s dumb. Just have frontcourt and backcourt.
get ready for a 3 big man and 2 forward all nba first team lmao
This only makes sense esp after the last few yrs. If thereās 2 centers and a forward way better than anyone else in a given yr they should all make it. Or if thereās 4 guards having ridiculous seasons, the 5 best players then next best 5 etc. squeezing positions gives weak players all nba and rewards them for the position being trash.
10 guards 2 centers and 3 forwards is gonna be weird
Changing the rules just for Joel Embiid to get his first team, what a softie /s
Good change. Gotta play 80% of the season and wonāt lose out on being selected because a worse player plays the a specific position.
So you vote for top 5 guys for MVP, and then you have another thing where you vote for the same top 5 guys of the season but with another name, seems needed.
Why is this even so codified in CBA lol. Imagine signing a contract and there’s a part about how much of a gift card you exactly get at your birthday and the paper grammature used.
Lmao so they simultaneously fix the rule that has excluded Joel Embiid from first team but implement a new rule so he wont be eligible all together
Basketball’s one of the few sports where the different positions don’t have different rules. Baseball pitchers don’t hit, soccer goalkeepers can use their hands…
This is ridiculous, itās not a team anymore if you have three centers and no point guards. Tradition should mean something, sad to see it destroyed because one player feels slighted. Russell and Wilt had the same problem but nobody changed the rules to make them happy.
Wow changing the rules just so Embiid can make 1st team for once /s
65 game threshold will make this all pointless.
Should probably be minutes based rather than number of games. Can’t wait for the injured player who plays 15 seconds to get their games in.
I get what theyāre trying to do with the 65 game threshold. Too many fans get fucked over with last minute load management days from star players who jack the venue prices up to like $150 and then tank them to $40 when theyāre all scrapped.
I remember wanting to watch Lakers at a nets and tix were $200+ for nosebleeds. I was going to go with a friend but I smashed my iPhone screen and decided to just spend on the screen repair. Day before the game Lebron and AD were ruled out and tix fell to like $60. I wouldāve been pissed as fuck if I spent $200
All centers all-nba team
I still think the ASG format had it right. 2 back court and 3 front court players. Even if itās not super strict it at least recognizes players in their respective positions. This feels little too vague.
I donāt hate or love it this way but I donāt think the conversations surrounding the All NBA teams are going to go well at now
That 65 game thing is going to drastically change historical comparisons.
Flair test
We’re going to see a LOT of snubs that absolutely crushed it for 64 games. I like it.
Good
