[Shams Charania] All-NBA teams will be positionless in the new collective bargaining agreement, with a 65-game minimum to be eligible for selection, sources tell me and @MikeVorkunov.

Finally Embiid can make first team all nba, when he’s clearly the best center but ya know defense doesn’t matter at center for all nba, so this is one rule change im in favor of.

Also it used to be positionless so they are really going back to how it started.

Voters should vote with this in mind here and now. Joel’s an all-NBA first teamer. He’s one of the top 5 players in the league, especially with Luka’s Mavs going to miss the playoffs.

    Start immediately or next season?

Let’s just see him be best yet again and play 63 games.

Does this mean Embiid can win both power forward and center next year?

  5. Is this for this season or starts next season?

  6. you guys on here are realize that Embiid usually doesn’t play 65 games right? That’s not a good ruler for him.

Cool now retroactively give Joel two 1st-team all NBA for his legacy’s sake

when does this take effect? joel is about to get robbed for a first team all nba for the third time in a row

i find it so funny how people refused to put joel first team because they were against two centers on the first team with the excuse of “we’re building the best TEAM not the best 5 players this should be an actual team that could win a real game!” except the all star game, WHICH IS AN ACTUAL LITERAL GAME THAT IS PLAYED, is somewhat positionless being divided into front and back court and we actually saw joel and jokic PLAYING IN REAL LIFE on the same team. that excuse for leaving joel off first team is so mind numbingly stupid and the only reason they do it is personal bias
