Building through the Draft like the Warriors vs Trading picks and assets for a player

Everybody got their own opinion but I’ll rather draft a team naturally like the stacked warriors notice when they win a chip they never get called a superteam (not including the kd warriors) ,it’s because most of those guys expect Wiggins they drafted let’s keep building through the draft instead of trading the house giving up our picks and assets for a player and don’t let it be a rental and they leave after their contract is up loyalty to one team nowadays is dead that would be a tough L.

Windows shut fast, if we are one or two players away from being in championship contention you make a deal, especially since we have sooo many assets right now

Warriors made some decent moves to move their team into a playoff team and then contender. The Monta Ellis move was huge, and they definitely won that as a franchise. Then moving on from Mark Jackson after a 51 win season was crucial. Moving players and staff can be done right, and I hope Weltman and Hammond keep building through this draft because it’s pretty stacked with solid players, but I hope they have the smarts to move what they need to build a contender.

Y’all think jamahl is our long term
    Coach?

  5. GSW nailed 3 drafts picks in a row with Green, Klay, and a top 10 player all time in Curry. Once you have that elite talent in your building, you then can start adding players in FA. No great team is built exclusively thru the draft. The bucks starting 5 only features one player they drafted, and that’s Giannis. Now that we have Paolo and Franz, we need them to continue to grow and compete. Once top tier FA’s see how well we win with just them, will they want to come sign in Orlando.

I just appreciate how you used that city edition orange that I love. Orlando is Orange County and founded on that citrus!

We needed the young players to cook the hard way and boy did they burn. Now we know who fits where and when, we found a great core for years to come.
Do we really need to bring guys like Harden and Durant who will jump ship as soon as something better comes along or like Westbrick who brings nothing to the table Or players like Irving who has issues offcourt.
We will have to trade almost half the roster and picks to get a somewhat good player because no elite player is coming to Orlando.
Build through the draft and free agency, no need to give away our best players, there is no hurry to start competing when the players are finding their place and rythm.
The Magic are building a Legacy, add to it not subtract from it. Think long term not short term.

You really need both to be successful. It’s great to be able to draft well and develop well but you have to similarly be opportunistic with free agency and trades. The Warriors have made plenty of smart trades to put them over the top. Iguodala, Andrew Bogut and of course KD. Then signing and trading KD for DLo AND a FRP, which became Kuminga.
