Not the first time, won’t be the last time (3 major turnovers in late game minutes by one player, including a very obvious offensive foul push off)

When you only hold your youngest players accountable it’s no surprise when the locker room tunes out the coach

😂 Looks like Van Vleet went hero ball level.

How a guard gets consecutive offensive fouls Lmaoo

Did you even watch the game?

Since we’re documenting isolated plays now, VanVleet did the following over 6 minutes to start the 4th when the Raptors we’re down 13:

    – Assist to OG for a 3 to cut it to 10
    – 3 pointer to cut it to 3
    – 3 pointer to cut it 2

I feel dumber typing that because it’s basketball. It’s a TEAM sport and it was a playoff atmosphere by the time it got to 6 minutes left in the fourth. The Raptors as a TEAM played hard, but couldn’t get it done.

This narrative of trying to blame it on FVV is so corny and frustrating. Please just stop.

Siakam and VanVleet era is making me lose love for raptors basketball. Feel like I’m just wasting my time watching this duo take us no where at this point

  5. The biggest issue here is that they really need to see if Scottie is as “clutch” as the numbers suggest because it’s only a small sample. The difficulty is taking a vet locker room, that includes the two guys who helped us win a ring and have all-star appearances, and convincing them that Barnes should get the lion’s share of late game usage.

This is where I think NN has fallen short.

I got a push notification saying the score was close: 101-105. My partner had just got home so I’d paused and walked away from the game. By the time I sat down it was 103-112. I barely took a second.

We can’t win anything with FVV and Siakam as our 2 main threats . Siakam never comes through in the clutch and FVV makes horrible decisions in crunch time

I hate FVV hero ball as much as anyone else, but boy, when Scottie starts to do that shit, I fear the worst lol

He definitely cost us the 4th quarter, but I hope people remember the hole that the whole team dug in the first place during the 1st half.

Fred does this shit cause it obviously feels like no one else can take the shot at the worst times. Dude thinks he has to carry like that (which he can’t 80% of the time). I fucking hate it, but if the team didn’t *stop playing defense* in the first half, maybe he wouldn’t be thinking he’s gotta chuck these shots.

    EDIT:
Seems people thought I was talking about Scottie shitting the 4th. I 100% meant FVV!

I just turned the game on at this very point actually after knowing we’d been down 20 at halftime. Was not a fun watch lol (I’m sure the comeback to down 2 was good viewing)

I was dying for Nurse to pull Fred after laughing about his second turnover in a row, during clutch moments.

  11. johnscat

Watching raptors basketball in the clutch is a painful experience

  12. SDAisaleaf

I would enjoy the team a lot more if FVV wasn’t on it. Way too selfish and nowhere near as good as he thinks he is

  13. creepypaster

Fred in the clutch is not that guy unless it’s an open corner 3 where he’s the recipient instead of the facilitator. His size is a severe limiting factor when teams clamp down in crunch time. They’ve been living off him driving into contested inside shots for a few years now because it’s easy to get a contest on him and you don’t have to send help so everyone can stay home.

Fred going 1v1 in crunch time is the ideal situation for the other team, but he doesn’t want to hear that.

  14. NoMoPolenta

I went away for vacay for 2 weeks so haven’t seen any games or this sub since then.

Looks like we’re back on the “FVV needs to go” train again?

I thought he was playing better since Yak joined us?

  15. SidRogue

FVV thinks he is the Steph Curry so he is the only one who can save the game in clutch moments and if he can’t do it no one else can.

FVV thinks he is the Kyrie Irving in terms of his ball handling, that’s why he just zooms into the paint to try a contested shot in the crowd.

He thinks he is the Lebron James of passing that when he picks up his dribble in the air he will miraculously find someone to pass the ball to and not cause a turnover.

No one on this team is a “leader” like FVV because he thinks he’s the only one left of the 2019 Championship team alongwith ofcourse his right hand Siakam.

    FVV is betting on “himself”.

And he is wagering the team for that…

Most delusional fan base ever. Everyone needs to stop drinking Masai’s kool-aid

I don’t wanna say this is a microcosm but it does kinda feel like the usual refrain for the roster as constructed. Bit of a trap being set, and I know the more popular idea is maybe move on from Freddy, but people are now wondering if you can really do much with both of Siakam and Barnes (which weirdly re-litigates draft day reactions,) if neither are anything resembling a threat outside. But also talent still does not willingly come to Toronto. But also the talent here now is trying valiantly to finish .500.

When Pascal and Fred are gone in order to expand Scottie and OG’s roles on offence it’s gonna hit like cocaine in the 70s

  20. I remember one point when Vanvleet brought the ball up the court near the end of the game and I was literally screaming “don’t drive it in and get blocked!!!!” What does he do? Drives it into the paint and gets absolutely demolished

  21. Green-Umpire2297

Last year at this time, pascal couldn’t be stopped late in game.

I’ve been a nurse supporter but I really think he’s gassed out pascal’s legs.

  22. TdotSkunt

Fred turns it over or take horrible shots the most in the crunch. Fred has the same 3pt% as DeMar but no one considers deebo a problem from 3…this should tell us something
