I forget where I saw them, but his stats when he’s the closest defender are abysmal. He’s a great offensive player, but anyone who tells you he’s even an average defender has an agenda.

Not only does Embiid deter more shots at the rim, the Sixers are equal if not worse at rim protection without Embiid than the Nuggets are without Jokic. Once both players are on the court, the Sixers overtake them with both a lower attempt rate and lower FG%.
