NBA twitter seems convinced a KD suns win over Steph somehow makes him better

Since warriors made the 5th seed, I’ve seen so many tweets(most likely from haters obviously) talking about how if the suns beat the warriors in the playoffs, it would somehow solidify KD ‘s legacy as better than Steph’s. And they continue to ignore the fact Steph torched the team that swept KD last year, hell, Steph erased a 3-0 lead against OKC KD in 2016. The conveniently forget the fact that KD and CP0 haven’t beat Steph and the warriors in a meaningful game in their entire careers. They ignore the fact that our starting five is still leagues ahead of any in the league and that our trio is 19-0 when they start in the playoffs. They conveniently ignore how we have a drastically better bench than the suns.
Since KD moved to phoenix, I’ve been hoping we had them first round so Steph could aboslutely put this argument to rest when he beats KD on his new superteam. I’ve never seen a superstar player get coddled by the NBA media and fans as much as KD for accomplishing practically nothing outside of his absolutely dominant super team era on the warriors.

TL:DR NBA twitter thinks super team KD suns will beat warriors so I can’t wait for Steph to prove them wrong

Coming from a Suns fan, your biggest mistake was taking Twitter seriously. A win in the first round against the other does nothing for KD and Steph’s legacy. All that matters is making the Finals and winning.

Because people think KD is already better because of his height. When he loses it’s just bad variance. When he wins it confirms he’s better.

This is just how it goes. Kawhi gets this same treatment. Blow a 3-1 lead? Poor Kawhi he had to deal with PG sucking. Win a chip vs Steph & McKinnie? Simply proves what we already knew, he’s the best.

On and on. Lebron also gets this. People will not change their minds about how good these players are because of their innate perceptions of height and athleticism.

When Steph wins it’s his teammates. When Steph loses it’s because he’s too small and can’t impose himself.

Historically, this is how they will be discussed as well unfortunately. Peoples’ default thoughts of an athlete are always about size & strength (see: Shaq unstoppable blah blah discourse as if he didn’t get swept multiple times…)

KD may be one of the greatest players of all time, but he has very thin skin. Draymond knows how to get under that skin. It’s hard to stop Curry with Draymond nipping at your heels.

…Steph vs KD? Ain’t this a team sport? Also how did KD get to GSW? Didn’t Steph “beat” KD the year before KD came? Come on. What a silly narrative.
