  1. it’s true.. the free agency rules are why there are super teams .. having principles is good but not when it hurts the product on the court

  2. Dame should've taken a pay cut so they could get better players around him. But players like him and Beal accept these $200+ million contracts as a result…stifling their own team's cap space but yet they can barely make it out the 2nd round.

If Harden who was a former MVP and franchise player can take a pay cut to help the team get better, then they should too

  3. I wrote the Dame take, and let me elaborate a bit more. What I was saying is that essentially trading away Dame would be beneficial for both parties. For Dame, he finally gets a change of scenery and hopefully is able to join a team that has the ability to contend like the bucks or the heat. For the Blazers, trading away dame does mean letting go of arguably their greatest player in franchise history, but the facts are that he is entering his mid 30's and is at the absolute ceiling of his prime, has suffered more injuries over the past couple years, and has a massive cap hold that can cripple the franchise once Dame's production begins to drop with age, especially with portland not being a popular free agency destination. I 100% agree with all the comments saying that it's the franchise's fault for not surrounding Dame with the right pieces and outright making terrible decisions like the Nurkic contract; the Blazers have been stuck in NBA purgatory where they haven't been good enough to contend (except for maybe that WCF year) but also not bad enough to land a top 3 talent in the draft that can transform a franchise and instead getting stuck with picks just outside or inside the lottery. I think that Portland needs to enter a complete rebuild and get as many future assets for Dame when his value is arguably the highest it will ever be at this moment. Shame to see a generational talent be wasted due to a franchise's inability to build around it.

  4. No, there was no mistake in trading for Durant. Watching today's game against Thunder, Durant showed why he is one of the top players in the league regardless if he's made of glass at times.

  5. A team shud never build around a PG .
Only 3 pgs in nba history ever won finals as lead guy.
Steph curry , Pistons Thomas , LA Goodrich

  6. I wouldn’t say he’s holding them back because he’s pretty much top 2 point guard in the league he deserves every dollar.

  7. The KD trade is totally revisionist history. Absolutely no one said the Suns overpaid, and everyone said the Suns fleeced Brooklyn. The only people saying otherwise were the Suns fans hyping up Mikal. KD brings things that even current Mikal doesn’t

  8. Blazers can't trade Lillard because of his Loyalty and Blazers want to pay back that Loyalty by not trading him away hence the hostage thing situation. Dame wants to be the hero to Portland, with or without a ring.

  9. So many haters🤡 Dame is loved here in Portland and has had so many big crazy moments here. He loves playing here and wants to bring a Championship here. Portland is too solid pieces away from being a top contender. People can say whatever they want about last season and this season but most of the players were hurt including Dame last year. Blazers will be top four in the West in 2024

  10. Damian Lillard is like that one OP strong anime character that just protects one place. And never moves from that spot. Never deals with the worlds problems.

  11. It's not Dame's fault for their poor roster building. Steph didn't build his team, their front office did. Dame's team could have been as good had he had a competent front office too.

  12. I think PTV needs to compensate Lillard, trade Sharpe +Simmons and a pick x Siakam +Boucher so they can contend together

  13. Jazz fan here. Lillard has said he would love to play in Utah. Jazz are rebuilding but a trade for him makes sense. Portland will want picks for their own rebuild. Lillard will become less athletic as he gets older and would be a good veteran to lead a young squad and pass the torch to the surprise breakout Lauri Markennan. They are probably out of the play-in at this point, but Lillard and Markennan together? 👀 Jazz need a veteran point, they have the picks, Portland wants to rebuild. Let’s make it happen 🙌

  14. The problem with dame is he never really got into a last year of contract that's why blazers never really feel the need to make him happy he just took all the money I'm sorry but that's facts
